BTH
The Leafs are catching up to us. If we can beat Ottawa it'll really give us a boost in the standings and also make us closer to the sens (not that we'll catch them). This is the one team that I can accept a loss against but with the Leafs closing in on us we need atleast 1 point. And we NEED both points against Buffalo. They should never have beaten us. Peter Puck
All this discussion of the leafs and the refs reminds me of something I saw in the November 11th game with the leafs at Buffalo. In the third period the leafs took a delayed penalty and one of the sabres (I forget which) walked in alone on Belfour. He took a wrist shot and beat Belfour. On the play Belfour got a piece of the puck with his stick but the puck just deflected a little bit off its course and went into the leaf net. The sabres were celebrating when the ref waived off the goal. Why? Because there was a delayed penalty and when Belfour touched the puck with his stick the ref ruled the play was over. I loved the expression on Lindsay Ruff's face as the ref was explaining his decision. [Edited on 2005/11/29 by Peter Puck]

We lost both games against the sens with a full line up. Now were missing one of our best forward and defencmen....TUFF game tomo for our boys!!!! Kovey and Markov will be missed...... If Belfour touching the puck barely changes it's course then it shouldn't be called. I've seen it before. He has to have control of the puck to call it. Even if it hit him and bounced right off his chest I don't think it counts.
BTH
By the way, I love the way Theodore put this one. And his bravery since he was the only habs who wasn't scared to get a fine by complaining about the reffing. "It's hard to win when it's seven against five." The Markov Mob The Markov Melee The Markov Massacre The Markov Manslaughter The Russian Riot The Russian Rumble The Russian Revolution The Andrei Armageddon The Andrei Apolcalypse If those all fail, we can always resort to "Punch-A-Leafs Fan" Day! Oh, I wish it came more than once a year... Much, much better. We have a bunch of good names - we can now officially riot over this. :ghg:
