I hope we can learn some lessons here tonight and make adjustments for next period game

Fixed that for you.

Vegas made adjustments for the second period, now it's time for Ducharme to show what he can so counter that.

Weird to see Price out of position

three goals like that, back door!

Wingers are missing their assignments when Ds are covering the half ice

Habs can’t win board battles or faceoffs

Hans also doing lots of touch passes because they have a VGK on top of them

adjustments needed for next game. Petry will not be sufficient

So Paul, what do you recommend for scoring against these guys?

Well Stanley scored 2 in game 4. Maybe try activating your defense.

Thanks bud.

Sure…but Gustaffson had a brutal first period, Kulak hasn’t been great, and without Petry, those are the only guys who qualify as “offensive defencemen.” That little structural problem we talked about all season is really biting us tonight.

Vegas doing a great job of moving the puck laterally in front of Price, forcing him to flail around. The Habs’ D will have to adjust to that.

Chiarot has been BY FAR the worst player on the ice.

Icing led to the first goal

His give away led to the second.

He had a puck over glass.

He was totally out of position and got caught running around the zone on the fourth.

He's been far worse than both Gustafsson and Kulak tonight.

He's generally been good in these playoffs though so it seems to just be an off night, but it was a bad one.

I was more making the point that the Habs can’t really “activate” their D for offensive purposes. They don’t have the horses to do that. As for Chiarot, yeah, he has not been good tonight.

Ah crap, thats not good.  They just showed Weber grimacing on the bench.

Mimesis and Robertson have been saying Weber has been favouring his hand

passed the puck instead of shooting

I like that they pulled Price late and gave the offence some zone time.  It didn't result in much in the way of chances but they were able to set up a cycle and did well.  That might be an offensive adjustment they look at.

The difference in the game was the D.  Some of the goals were like the Harlan Globetrotters against the sacrificial lambs. Score would probably have been 8-1 or 9-1 if it wasn’t for Price. Fleury was solid, but he wasn’t tested like Price was.

Our D contributed squat offensively and was horrible defensively- ironically the best of the bunch was probably Romanov who has been benched most of the playoffs. If Merril or Petry are back in: they better sit someone else

chariot was horrible. His chip and dump out approach led to icings and the first goal and was like a selfish out of water most of the night. Absolutely crap.

kulak also was part of the bad penalties problem and was pretty ineffective. For a puck carrier, puck moving dman, horrible in moving the puck tonight.

Gustafsson showed why no else really wanted him. Edmondson was okay, but he played the way you expect him to play.

faceoffs was the other big issue. This game is exhibit A, showing why winning it at least not losing faceoffs cleanly matter.

can’t play like this next game. Ot sucked to lose after the win streak. But maybe it’s better being beaten so clearly, that they can’t just say it was bad puck luck. Need to adjust and come back strong.

Vegas’s forwards have a clear edge on hours in terms of pure skill, but their D is much better.  We have to change our approach. This is a much more complete tram than Toronto and Winnipeg.

nuxe to see Caulfield finally bury one and get other food chances. Rest of the offense need to be sharper as bury their chances.
