or a PP fail by the Habs?

Weber should have moved in a bit and then over.  i.e. put himself in a position that opens up a passing lane with the puck carrier that was in the right corner behind the goal line.

I’d say more if a fail. Let’s just go with 5 forwards. Gustafson is not a QB.

Game, set and match. We wont be back for another 30 years.

Isnt there a bridge somewhere else you should be under?

As dlbalr already pointed out, need the top six to chip in, too bad 22 just got post.

17 shots in 1st, awesome.

Excellent analysis from Bieksa - the Habs’ propensity to collapse down low, which has been so successful all playoff, is inadvertently leaving huge openings for the Tampa D. We had the same difficulty against Vegas, but TB’s D are significantly more dangerous. When you think about it, Toronto’s D is not that threatening and neither is Winnipeg’s. VGK was a marked step up but we hung on and won. Now, finally, we are up against a truly powerful defence corps. That goes a fair way to explaining the results so far. In that sense, TB is a terrible matchup for us and our game.

Habs are coming back for the win tonight. They look good.

also, not only do they have DD back behind the bench, but Richardson can focus on the D matchups. This is going to pay off by the 3rd period.

Are Tampa that much better than Vegas or is it the habs who is abit overwealmed?

Tampa bay is a lot better than Vegas.

Kucherov, point, palat, stamkos  > than any Vegas forward

hedman > any dman on Vegas

Vasilevskiy > Fleury/Lehner

He's barely an NHL caliber D-man...dress Romanov FFS

TB are the defending champs, FFS. Yes, they are better than VGK

IMHO linear plays to the net and off the rush plays seems to catch Vasileski off

He seems to be really on plays down low or from behind the net

he also seems so big on plays froms close that I am it sure tips would work

I still say I’d put in Kulak.

That said, while I get tired of his backwards passes in the neutral zone on the PP, Gustaffson *did* keep the puck moving on that man advantage. I think we have forgotten how comically static the PP was before he was inserted into the lineup.

Most of the defencemen do the drop passes, not just Gustafsson.  They're just one of the teams that likes to use that play a lot.  I actually liked his shot on the power play, low and through the screen looking for a rebound opportunity.  The Habs need more point shots like that, not just unscreened slappers.

Yeah…a good chunk of fans appear to be in denial about this. Substituting Romy for Gustafsson makes no sense in the context of this D-corps. We need puck movers.

It's criminal that we can't have a full barn for these games.

A fraction of the cases per million that Florida has. Massive percentage fully vaccinated. Confusing decision by Quebec.
