Bizarre translations, obviously, but Romanov shines through as a guy who loves Montreal, and is soaking up everything he can from the Habs’ veterans - especially Weber and Perry. That neither of those two is around any more is slightly worrisome from this point of view. Interesting that he framed Tampa as much tougher, physically, than Vegas - he clearly thinks that that is why TB handled us so easily; they neutralized our physical edge.

The kid emerges as very thoughtful, likeable, and eager to learn. 👍

I think he gives too much credit to the physical edge. Tampa had a far better offence, defence, and for the first time in the playoffs goaltending.  The physical edge was just the cherry on the top.

This doesn't fit perfectly anywhere, that I could find, so picked here.

Scott Wheeler in The Athletic ranked the top 10 goalie prospects ... and Primeau did not make it ... his 10 were:

1. Yaroslav Askarov, G, 19 (Nashville Predators — 11th overall, 2020)

2. Spencer Knight, G, 20 (Florida Panthers — 13th overall, 2019)

3. Jesper Wallstedt, G, 18 (Minnesota Wild — 20th overall, 2021)

4. Sebastian Cossa, G, 18 (Detroit Red Wings — 15th overall, 2021)

5. Dustin Wolf, G, 20 (Calgary Flames — 214th overall, 2019)
6. Jeremy Swayman, G, 22 (Boston Bruins — 111th overall, 2017)

7. Lukas Dostal, G, 21 (Anaheim Ducks — 85th overall, 2018)

8. Drew Commesso, G, 19 (Chicago Blackhawks — 46th overall, 2020)

9. Mads Søgaard, G, 20 (Ottawa Senators — 37th overall, 2019)

10. Erik Portillo, G, 20 (Buffalo Sabres — 67th overall, 2019)

Is Wheeler any good?

Any good, yes. Tends to favour the Leafs, but I don't see that in his top ten.

But pretty much every prospect analyst agrees that it's super hard, nay, near impossible to assess goalie prospects.

Is there a rookie camp this season ?

I see tweets about players being invited, but no official list. I think rookie camp is 7 to 10 days before the main camp next month.

Maybe the week of Sept. 6?

I've been looking for an official date too, without success

Preseason starts Sept. 25

This article mentions that rookie camp will take place the second week of September:

That's the logical guess based on when training camp should be beginning based on when the preseason begins but nothing has been made official yet.

I think the Habs are up to nine unaffiliated invites so far (not players on NHL, AHL, or ECHL deals).  Some are pro-aged that are likely preliminary tryouts for Laval/Trois-Rivieres.
