The Chicoutimi Cucumber
45 minutes ago, DON said: I wouldnt read much into vet-d preseason play. He isnt fighting for a spot and more or less practice. But, at least Wideman and Drouin had 2a each, one of few positives on paper about that game it seems. Yeah, Savard is probably just trying to find his legs and learn the system. He is not fighting for a roster spot. Who cares how he does in preseason? Let’s remember, also, that Edmundson - who evolved into a monster minutes-eater last year - looked dodgy at first. You can’t treat proven NHLers like raw rookies; you have to let them find their groove in a new setting.
Commandant
Good: dvorak, drouin, anderson had chemistry. Wideman looked to take a big step.towards locking down the 6th D/pp qb role. Evans looks to be the 3c. Bad: Chiarot and Savard were awful. Poehling is earning a spot in Laval. Guhle wasnt as good as hes been in previous games. Ugly: The hit on niku and no call on the play.
