He seemed to successfully adapt to the "players of the day" ... don't think he coached the way he did in Montreal in Buffalo, Pittsburgh or Detroit ... he was successful in five different decades as a NHL coach, missing the playoffs only once. Has Ducharme been reading these forums, or did Gorton tell him to give the kids a chance to play? Haha I like that, and that the youth are playing more. I do believe the reasoning has more to do with the number of vets out of lineup more so than DD making a decision to play the kids more. It will be telling what happens as vets return to lineup, which looks like a while yet so good for the kids.
