At least the Habs only have to face Wright infrequently with him being out west

It happens.

I'm not sure how much I like the Dach trade.  He's young with a couple of season under his belt, but I'm not sure he';s worth what was given up for him.  I hope I eat my words.

Slafovski seems like a needs based pick. But let’s give him a chance.

I would have preferred a centre

We got that in Dach? Maybe, big C anyway

I loved Romanov, but Guhle is coming and has a higher ceiling

the #13 pick is intriguing

Well we don’t have 13 now, we obtained Dach for it

Right. Dach is now the young C with size. He is our answer to Shane Wright.

Looking at this stats, I find it unsettling that his development arc has a decided shade of "Kotkaniemi" about it.

Listening to TSN690 this week I have heard numerous guests reputed to be "draft experts" say that there was virtually no space between Slafkovsky and Wright as prospects, that Slafkovsky higher upside but is the bigger, and that Wright might only be picked because he was the safe pick.

TSN 690 has had their B team this summer. But sure…

TSN690 draft coverage, including play-by-play announcer Dan Robertson, mentioned that he heard through the last parts of the season that the new regime was not enamoured of Romanov ... nothing as to why.

UFA LHD on the radar next week?

Who’d have known we’d have been better off dropping to 4 in June? 😅

kidding (kinda)

Wish the best for Slaf. Terrified Wright will make everyone look stupid.

Now what happens with Lambert, Miroshnichenko and others ... who slips?

Kaiden Guhle is making the team.

They didn't have this kind of balls. This is big boy balls 😂

LOL. In all honesty, I'm not sure Bob or Marc would have declined the safe choice for a #1 overall pick during their first season as Habs' GM. That does indeed take massive cojones

And if they prove to have guessed wrong, Hugh-Gort will be strung up from the rafters with those very same cojones.

Quite likely was anyway ... and LHD a bit thin in experience ... especially *** if *** there ends up being a need for Edmundson to move to the right-side (e.g., Petry traded, Baron not ready, no RHD UFA signed) ... how many youngsters will they want playing each game?

I think we sign a cheap vet.  Some like a Kulak.

But I do think that we may be real young on D with Guhle, Barron and Harris all on the team.
