Never was my favourite player growing up, and wasn’t even close to being born while he was playing, but as a habs fan, how can you go with anything but the Rocket.

The Rocket

2nd for me isn't on the list. Le Démon Blond

Liked that much better than “the flower”.

Both were used, at least definitely recall both being used 🙂 ... the meaning was the same.

Big bird was definitely most common. I don't recall hearing bird.

Maybe more common in French? Could be. It's been a few years! 😂

Brought to you by The Hamburglar.

Have to admit I think of that as a Sens nickname, not a Habs nickname ... even if he is now a Hab

Forgot about Big Bird. Also, Serge Savard was often called The Senator.

I know The Flower is just a translation of #10’s name, but I always loved that nickname. It’s like he was “the flower” of the sport - a non-macho nickname that captured the beauty of how he played.

Big Bird, but biased answer for sure, my favourite Hab also.

I also like Crankshaft:ph34r:, but he only played part of one season (i know I know, part of a season too much.).

LOL, loved Crankshaft, a completely hilarious player.

It felt longer than part of one season.

😄

Another nickname I forgot about was "Skills" for Hal Gill. 😆

I know Patches may not be well loved anymore but "Wolverine" was a great nickname for a guy who came back from injuries so quick.

Agreed, but I never really knew whether that was just an internet-fan nickname or something that actually stuck.
