This way, he'll get some power play time at least. He's listed as a centre on the graphic because the other two are wingers and their graphic for the D isn't big enough to fit another defenceman in it. 1-1 after 1. Ylonen with the goal for Laval. We know Belpedio was banged up last weekend so it could be a hedge against that. Or it could be they'd rather him play 8 minutes on the back end in certain situations over having someone like Condotta playing 8 minutes on the fourth line. Or they just didn't want him sitting for two straight games after flying him over and this was the easiest way to get him in there to see if he can outperform one of the other six. I didn't catch all of the game but from what I could gather from the audio feed, he was being deployed as a 7th D so the TOI I imagine was fairly low.
