I thought the Bruins had overachieved the last couple years. I mean Charlie Coyle was their #1 center last year and his career year is 60 points. I don't think Montgomery lasts the year.

If he does get fired we should hire him IMMEDIATELY. He would get picked up right away.

Sadly there's not many bilingual coaches on the market, so I agree we should snatch him up.  We are becoming the Bruins dumping grounds for coaches though.

Yeah, we did recycle Julien a couple times.

Toropchenko gets $1.7M for his final RFA season. I don't expect that Evans or Armia would cost less than that--unless on an overly long contract.

I don't want Armia back and Evans is already getting that. So I'm pretty sure Evans will be at the $2.5m+ range, how much higher will be dependent on the term

Any clue yet what the market will might look like for top-4 UFA RH d-men next summer?

🤪 Probably Demidov, Hutson and a first… 🤪

A good 1st period for Dallas tonight.  I do like to see Pittsburgh lose.

I enjoy your consistent dislike of PITTS. While I have huge respect for Crosby, I do find that organization rather unlikeable, mostly because whenever they bottom out, they happen to land these historic generational players. When we bottom out, by contrast, we get Slaf. Nothing against Slaf, God love him, but…come on.

I get the heart of your post but the year Crosby was drafted first overall the Habs picked Carey Price just 4 picks later.

Habs did waste a bunch of high picks over the last decade or more. Kotkaniemi, Galchenyuk, Kostitsyn and others that I’m too lazy to look up!

Whole lot of chatter that Reinbacher might be added to that squandered list too. Too early to tell

It's more that I want that 2nd round pick to be as high as possible, a better bargaining chip. Plus Pittsburgh has had their turn, great respect for Crosby but he has won enough cups.

The Penguins trade Eller to Washington for some picks. Are the Penguins bailing on the season? I hope so but what does Crosby think?  Or am I reading too much into this trade?

I could see Dubas doing some buying and selling.  This buys them some cap space, how can that be utilized now?  I can't see them pulling the plug just yet on this season.
