It's thanks to the fact he signed at 20 but didn't turn pro right away.  When signing at that age, it's 160 NHL games or three pro seasons.  Since the first year of the contract was spent solely in junior, this is pro year number three for him.  He's exempt through this season only or until he reaches 160 NHL games played (which would be late in the year).

Thank you!

IMHO:

1. there is nothing wring with sending Kapanen for a last season in Europe. They can ask him to work on his face-offs a bit more and to improve his pace. A bit like Suzuki when he was sent down his last season. But RHP needs to earn Kapanen's spot in the lineup and show he is fully recovered.

2. If Heineman remains hot, keep him, otherwise he can go back down to make room for Roy if Roy continues to dominate.

Who I would have thought to make such a great roster move 🤪

What did Xhekaj do now?

as the first period ticked down. Then Xhekaj buried Jamieson Rees with a hit from behind, drawing another penalty. Xhekaj then decided to toss his gloves off as Jake Chiasson came over to grab him and he was handed a double roughing penalty in addition to boarding.

Little Xhekaj has some things to learn ... but I like the truculence.

definitely, the interest for Laval will increase this season:

Watched Laval game. Beck will be here soon, this season sometime. He has 10 points in 11 games. Good size and skating. Good defensive and on faceoffs, which usually hard for most young centers.

I hope not, I want him to win a Calder cup in Laval. MTL winning is not that important this year

Don't get greedy! Laval will get Reinbacher, Fowler and Demidov if they go deep in AHL playoffs.

Habs need to move bodies at deadline for draft picks

That's how I feel, a full year in Laval is very good for him. His time will come next year.  It's a bit of a mess right now in Montreal anyway, keep going with the positive vibes in Laval (along with Mailloux).

Let’s say, from now to the trade deadline, leave the Laval roster stacked

"But while Joshua Roy and Alex Barre-Boulet have probably been the most suggested options, I wonder about Luke Tuch getting an opportunity sooner than later. "

"He’s a solid forechecker, plays a physical game, and can kill penalties."
