4 point night for Mailloux 🎉 Watch out Barron, your life is in danger ‼️

Barron gonna get the Tinordi treatment? I've been a vocal hater of the lehkonen trade since day 1. Sure could use his tenacious forecheck and puck retrieval skills over jb on degense. He is terrible.

Unless Logan is also dominating defensively, he is right where he belongs

Don't know what other options were out there but Lehkonen was leaving for nothing in free agency if not traded ... cap-wise it was Lehkonen or Armia and Joel was extended ... the 2nd rounder obtained with JB was part of trading up for Michael Hage.

I still have hopes for Barron. He makes me think of Petry, before he got to Montreal.

Certainly agree that Mailloux belongs in the AHL right now BUT Barron is not any better defensively and might just be even worse.

I'm hoping this is the start of goods new on Struble

But in the "near term"

A long playoff run would be great to see this season.

Looking at Laval’s AHL Contracts – HabsWorld.net

"...However, beyond the Patrik Laine trade, they were quite active in terms of AHL pacts which has certainly helped bolster Laval’s depth heading into the season which starts tonight."

Logan Mailloux With Huge 4 Point Night Scores Beauty (2G/2A)/Mesar 3 PTs/Tuch Drops Gloves 10-11-24 (youtube.com)

Roy 6 shots, nice.

Beck 2 shots; Engstrom & Trudeau 1g 3 shots each.

Mesar with 3 points, great start.

Tuch had a fight, something he just couldnt do in the NCAA i suppose.

Dobes just had '14' shots in thjs one (0.857%), 2g on 1st 4 shots

Engstrom almost had a 2nd goal, love his skating and has some puck skills.

Mailloux's last goal was pretty slick and #1 star easily.

Beck's  simple defense and skating stood out.

Poor Tuch blocked a few punches with his face and looked bloodied up in team picture... need Big George to train him up.

*whispers* Xhekaj has been worse than Barron

In some ways yes he has. I don’t remember Xhekaj ever struggling to get the puck out of the zone like he has. He can’t seem to even get the puck off the glass and out.

I'm still going to blame a terrible preseason as a major contributor.

I-M-O, their being paired together is part of the problem ... but neither deserves to be playing any higher the lineup either.

And Barron doesn't deserve any blame for Lehkonen being traded--just like Drouin didn't deserve being blamed for Sergachev's departure. Let's criticize players for what they do (or don't do) on the ice, but they have mo control over trades.

Go Beck Go!

He is gonna have a good game, is my gut feeling.

Engstrom and Beck just seemed to look 'less excited' than others in selfie.

Tuch lost fight, but good on him to drop the gloves, i suppose.

A very good scouting report of the Rocket’s first game:

The Rockets were impressive, Mailloux and Engstrom in particular. Mailloux's last goal was a work of art.

Sadly, no reference to how Mailloux played defensively ... THAT is the part of his game that, I-M-O, he needs to demonstrate is NHL-ready.

If anyone's wonder where Sean Farrell is, he's a healthy scratch.

9 goals in 47 AHL games last season ... healthy scratch in the 3rd game this season ... any excitement I had for him is waning

1-0 Laval early, Barre-Boulet with the goal.

It was a beauty

I like the intensity of the team. They also look fast across all lines.
they look more talented overall.

Beck makes such crisp and precise passes, il is great to see him in action.

I like this team

Barre-Boulet and Roy played like men on a mission to return to the NHL. I think it was the first time I've seen Engstrom play, he looked solid.

Wotherspoon is a better defenseman than Paquette-Bisson (who plays for Syracuse now)

Dobes was solid.

I look forward to tomorrows game, should be fun

Nice to see Roy produce some offense

"The Rocket entered without top defenceman Logan Mailloux, who had been called up to the NHL roster before the game. Alex Barre-Boulet had cleared waivers, however, and took Sean Farrell’s place on the top line while Farrell along with Riley Kidney were healthy scratches. William Trudeau replaced Mailloux next to Adam Engstrom, while Gustav Lindstrom slid into the second-pairing spot. "
