Young players need learn they need to earn their spot and have a spot or a big contract handed to them before they have proved anything - otherwise we risk having them become the next Anderson or Armia. Well, some of the youngsters that didn’t earn it stayed with the club last year… so, yeah, past 20 years.

Prime Minister Koivu
Lots of injuries in Laval including Mesar out for 8 to 10 weeks. Has the curse moved to Laval?
DON
Poor Mesar, 5pts in 4games, was a nice start. Filip Mesar out 8-10 weeks with a lower-body injury

I'll go through last season and reply with stats and links. from memory, though, I am sure that some waiver eligible and waver exempt players that hadn't "earned" their roster spot where kept. I just want to double check with stats to make sure I am not making up stuff

DON
Hopefully Mailloux takes demotion well and works hard at defending well. Will Xhekaj end up back in Laval at some point, dont think would hurt him any. Rocket Weekly: Two Wins Over Utica – HabsWorld.net "With the still-important caveat that we’re still very early in the season, I have to say that Sean Farrell’s slow start is somewhat concerning. In the early going, he has been held pointless through five games despite playing in the top six while being a healthy scratch the other time." Dobeš, Beck guide the Rocket to a fifth straight win "Owen Beck worked his way around a defender and fed a perfect pass to Alex Beaucage in the slot, but Beaucage saw his shot beat Daws and then clang off the post harmlessly." "...the “Kid Line” led by Owen Beck continued to be a nuisance for Utica inside the offensive zone. Beck curled behind the net, picking out Jared Davidson all alone at the faceoff dot, then fed him a perfect one-timer to make it a 2-1 game for the home side." Obviously he went down to Laval with the right attitude.
alfredoh2009
Beck plays a really interesting brand of hockey. He finishes his checks and is aggressive on the forecheck. He is smart with the puck and does not panic under pressure. He made two fantastic passes in the game yesterday and from what I have seen this seems to be normal from him. He can also score and is always moving in the offensive zone. He’ll be a great 3rd line center. It is fun to see him play in the AHL. I am impressed on how Pascal Vincent is rolling the lines. He has consistent play from all four lines. The game lacked flow, Utica was very effective on blocking passing lanes so there were lots of broken plays in both sides. But the Rocket seemed to have wave after wave of consistent play where the talented players came through.

DON
All Beck All the Time! Owen Beck's Rating Seriously Up - TVA Sports "It's not easy to get used to in this league, I experienced it when I came out of junior, it's a different game," explains Xavier Simoneau. I think he does it pretty quickly." Beck's winger, Jared Davidson, praises his hard work. "He works hard with and without the puck. He's a good skater, he's so fast and I'm a little slower so I can arrive late and he does all the work," he laughs. "I'm more or less surprised [by this quick adaptation] because he has all the talent in the world and a whole work ethic."
