In previous season I've always liked Condotta and think he'd be an upgrade on Pezz.  However, they will both likely be obsolete soon.

I've liked what I've seen from Davidson so far and want to see more of him.  He seems to have a level of Claude Lemieux in him.  i.e. he seems to be an agitator.  In 1 the previous games I saw him do 4 things that made me chuckle.  1 was the play was going towards the Habs end and he was nowhere near the puck but 2 players on the other team were slightly behind him and out of nowhere he threw his shoulder into 1 of them right into their sternum.  It surprised the hell out of the guy he hit.

Yeah, I don't think Condotta sticks around too much longer unless he wants to hang around on an AHL deal.  He didn't do half bad in the third playing both roles and that should score him some points with the coaches.

Davidson is one of those guys who shift to shift doesn't necessarily stand out but at the end of the game, he's made a few plays of note (and in junior, often landed on the scoresheet).  I'm glad he got signed - I'm not sure he's an NHL player but he's worth a look.

Oh well, Dach will get a different winger now, who will it be, Roy/Armia/Anderson?

Sucks for Reinbacher, hope is minor injury .

Xhekaj reminded me of Bertuzzi on Moore.

Does not look good.

Mcl damage almost for sure and acl is often damaged along with mcl, especially when mcl damage is severe.

I am hearing, Please note this is second hand, from Physio at game that knows the Montreal staff.

After physical exams and Knee ACL stability test, BOTH Patrik Laine & David Reinbacher have expected torn ACL.

I REPEAT NOT official, MRI on SUNDAY, but early indication is an ACL injury for BOTH.

Wow, so unfortunate...

Means both out for season. Hope MRI confirms otherwise.

Sorry to pass this from a reliable source. Like all ACL's which I have gone through.. stability via test on spot is usually correct unfortunately. But 1 in 10 aren't.

Best of speedy recovery for both.

You are welcome. Unfortunately I know a little to much about ACL, as went through one. Dr. David Reid, the long time Oilers doctor did mine . ( allograft procedure )

It's fairly simple procedure to confirm injury, lying down flat on back. Physio administers a pull on bent knee. Any give way, indicates instability and clear tear. usually done right after impact, before the swelling. As it's body natural reaction to provide immediate stability. MRI is quickly done thereafter.

Of swelling is immediate may mask the injury so until MRI is done it's hard to confirm.

That's from all indication and details.

I am well recovered long ago, limits my skiing as kept playing after ACL and cartilage and has hoping damage. Very similar to Carey Price actually.

I am involved in soccer community at fairly high level in Canada, this I am unfortunately very familiar with these injuries.

The good news in today's age, ACL recovery can be as little as 5 to 6 months or most 8 months, the procedure has come along way. And they should be up and running. Of course exception is Price , like myself damage continued as strain continues and stress without surgery, so this is a problem.

Laine injury from replay appears more serious than Reinbacher, Laine from my visual at least but hard to tell with angles

( PS: yes I explained on Markov and few others like Galchenyuk.)

But high probability of full recovery in today's day and age.

Let's wait and see on MRI. Expect news on Monday or Tuesday. For know just speculation.

Good night all. Hoping for the best.

Down to 32 players and Guy Carbonneau 2.0 was in the first round of cuts.

Told ya so.

9 cuts to go (probably 7 as Reinbacher and Laine go on IR)

Guy spent 2 years in the AHL with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs so let's hope Beck follows a similiar path.

I agree 100% and would not have cut Florian. Would be out Austin hunting next match but hey I got called out for saying this stuff on here before. Screw the leafs. Eye for an eye knee for a knee. I would have dressed a goon squad opening night and f-ed up a few stars for good. Call me a neanderthal as I have been called before but I have been called much worse by people who insist that calling people names is wrong, dare I say snowflakes? Time to bring in Ogalthorpe.

Dalhabs? In all our years on here our agreeing on something just might be a first?

It sucks but players get injured.

Was it a penalty that wasnt called? Sure.

Was it an intent to injure and the Habs should go after players not involved in the play? Thats just bullshit, and yes ill call out that kinda thinking as not helping the team or the league.

I just didnt see the kind of cheap shot that necessitates that.

If all of Montreal and its fan base continue to  focus on injury and Adversity... and talk of being cursed or jinxed,  guess what? the universe will continue to give us what we focus on.

Fk I'm so distraught. Two knees in less than 5 minutes.... unbelievable

Reinbacher skate sticks to boards, and he sits on a twisted leg. It's knee for sure I would think and major time lost TY in development.

My hope for Laine and this top 6 has taken a HUGE blow.  I wonder if this means Kapanen remains with the team and doesn't go back to Europe. He might offer an option on the 3rd line as I would think Roy will work his way up to the top 6 now as the season progresses.

I really dont think what i think about and talk about effects what happens on the ice.  Especially with regards to injuries.

Jinxes, myths, and magical thinking arent real.

We dont know what offense Laine would of produced.

Feels like maybe lost a big soft 20g winger, which isnt horrible if Anderson's shooting % goes back to normal, or Roy pushs his way into top-6 and shines.

(somehow trying to look on the bright side of life:()

For sure would feel worse about Reinbacher if his is a long term injury.

Bad luck is real. And when it comes to massive injuries to important players, the Habs have had a ridiculous amount of it since Koivu.

I’m a bit worried on a human level for Laine. A season ending injury before a single official game has been played is a terrible thing to happen - just about the worst possible outcome - to a young man trying to overcome depression, or whatever his mental health issues are.

Of course, next game the other team does that to the Habs, if not in same game.

It is terrible, rotten luck. Trying to be as objective as possible, I just didn't see a dirty play or intent to injure, maybe a bit careless.

Time to move forward and hope both players can recover fully from whatever the injury is. Hopefully last night was the low point of the year. It appears Hughes (with Price and likely Laine on LTIR) will have a whole lot of cap room. Let's see if he can be creative with it.
