Prime Minister Koivu
Projected lines: Dach - Suzuki - Caufield Newhook - Kapanen - Armia Heineman - Dvorak - Gallagher Anderson - Evans - Pezzetta Matheson - Barron Hutson - Mailloux Struble - Savard Montembault
Prime Minister Koivu
I’m actually surprised that they didn’t give Newhook the centre spot. At the same time, Kapanen is getting a massive opportunity. Montembault is going to have to be outstanding tonight. Go Habs Go

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Good chance for Dach to get going, anyway.

Presumably Kapanen will otherwise take care of the C responsibilities. It will be interesting to see how this combination works. In theory it's a big downgrade from Dach, but Dach really has not been playing to his potential yet.
Butterface
I mean, I’m glad the line up has been shuffled. Just not glad it happened due to an injury. I don’t know how odd it is to have Dach play wing. Is it odd ? Lets hope something jogs loose and his cobwebs go away. Kapanen does get a big opportunity. I suspect he will be a third line center in next few years… but that’s still a long way away. If he does well here it could be a certainty as early as next year… This Ranger team is a bit of a monster with a lot of potential for a cup. Lets hope Savard puts in a good audition. Not sure this will end well for us, but I’m hoping so.
Prime Minister Koivu
Dach was excellent when paired with Suzuki and Caufield. Habs are surely trying to get Dach going and I hope this works. If Dach excels and Kapanen excels then Slafkovsky likely gets paired with Newhook and Kapanen on return. Hopefully it reignites him.

Wing on the top line generally brings greater challenges in terms of opposition (forwards and defence) but greatly simplifies the game he is asked to play ... I totally agree about it hopefully reigniting Dach.
TurdBurglar
I don't understand that second goal. Clear as day someone was calling out "Ice, Ice, Ice," which is normal for an icing call. Maybe it wasn't a linesman?

Peter Puck
Yeah that second goal is a joke. The icing rule is supposed to prevent that. The linesmen just screwed up and cost us a goal.
Butterface
I stopped watching… 2nd 3rd goal against was brutal hockey. Feel badly for Montembeault. Left out to dry.
Prime Minister Koivu
Habs have had opportunities but 3-0 sucks. Not Montembault’s fault. Not sure why St. Louis would split up Hutson, Mailloux when they were so good last game.

Prime Minister Koivu
Rangers are a very good team but that doesn’t excuse the Habs play in their own zone.

Struble and Mailloux quit on the play and Montembeault lost focus. That can't happen. 1
Prime Minister Koivu
Happy for Suzuki and a better period by Montreal but we are disasters in our own end. I didn’t expect Montreal to be this bad defensively
dlbalr
Suzuki had a nice power play goal and the Habs had a bit of momentum but the Schneider goal got New York back into the game and Montreal was chasing it from there to end the second.
