Let's get back above .500!!  So glad I got the center ice package!!

Yeah I usually get one package or another and it makes the season so much more fun.

Please let there be instant connection between Slafkovsky and Newhook tonight.

I like the idea of Slaf on the 2nd line.  Dach is clearly playing better with Caufield and Suzuki, the line as a whole is.  I also like the idea of Slaf being the primary shooter on the 2nd line.  If he could pot a couple and get his shooting confidence up, it would only be good for his development.

Once Laine returns we should have 2 good lines barring further injuries.

Armia and Newhook played well with Gallagher last year. Slafkovsky is Gallagher++ and much more yet, so there is some hope that this line could work.

I don't think Kapanen was terrible, but he's not ready to be a 2C at this point in his career, at least. And not good enough to improve the play of this line.

If Slaf is the primary shooter on the 2nd line then who is the playmaker?

Newhook and Armia.  One of Dach's biggest problems on the 2nd line is they all have a pass first mentality.

I don't know, Armia had 8 assists last year.

He spent most of his time with Newhook, Gallagher, Roy, Dvorak and Evans last season.  None of those were particularly good at finishing to get assists off of.

This season he is 4th amongst Habs forwards in assists, assists (5-on-5) and assists/60(5-on5) <all slightly different stats>... for whatever that is worth on a small sample size

Yes, I think 3 assists is a small sample size.  Just like 3 goals for Gallagher is a small sample size.
