Interesting optimism in a matchup that is basically 'guaranteed loss night' historically.  I think the last time Montreal won a game in Minnesota was something like 2008.

That play by Hutson was insane.

Notwithstanding the low SOG totals and that ONE shift leading to a goal, which was partly Habs misreads and partly high-end Minnesota skill, this has actually been an excellent game by the Habs. They are playing tight, in-sync hockey - almost like they’re starting to figure out the System. Let’s see them keep building on this.

 

Hutson could be made the goat on the goal, but he was put on the back foot by that turd Dvorak. His plays this game have indeed been off the chart.

 

EDIT: Damphousse and Brunet on RDS were calling out Dach for simple lack of effort/determination. Hard to argue; they showed several shifts where he just wasn’t engaged. Disturbing.

Hutson is awesome. Unexpectedly kept the PP alive with two excellent plays at the blueline.

We've given up a single odd man rush.  Partly that's due to Minnesota's style of play but nevertheless that's the least number for us in any game this year.

Funny, when we had about 25 seconds to go after a great extended kill, I said to myself, ‘OK, they will get scored on right toward the end of the PK.’ Some things are inevitable. At least with this bunch. 🙄
