Prime Minister Koivu
I believe that you are the only GDT maker that has back to back wins and I think that trend continues.

Interesting optimism in a matchup that is basically 'guaranteed loss night' historically. I think the last time Montreal won a game in Minnesota was something like 2008. Rookie Lane Hutson is definitely scoring a hat trick to match Subban tonight

Prime Minister Koivu
Looks like no morning practice today. Rosters and Stats for both teams. Thanks to Stu Cowan who posts these every game.

DON
Will the young Habs leave the russian star wide open in the slot? https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/mtl-min-what-you-need-to-know-nov-14-2024 "Beating the Wild starts—and on some nights ends—with shutting down Kaprizov. Many Minnesota fans would argue, with good reason, the 27-year-old has been the best player in the NHL this season with 28 points in just 15 games. Limiting Kaprizov would significantly increase the Habs’ chances at coming out on top on Thursday."
Commandant
So is the story of the first period the Habs being held to 2 shots, or the Wild taking 4. 😴
Prime Minister Koivu
Shots are Habs 2 and Minny 4 at the end of the first. Good back and forth period with strong pace. Habs look good

Prime Minister Koivu
Lane Hutson is RIDICULOUS The skill level is off the charts
Commandant
That play by Hutson was insane.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Notwithstanding the low SOG totals and that ONE shift leading to a goal, which was partly Habs misreads and partly high-end Minnesota skill, this has actually been an excellent game by the Habs. They are playing tight, in-sync hockey - almost like they’re starting to figure out the System. Let’s see them keep building on this. Hutson could be made the goat on the goal, but he was put on the back foot by that turd Dvorak. His plays this game have indeed been off the chart. EDIT: Damphousse and Brunet on RDS were calling out Dach for simple lack of effort/determination. Hard to argue; they showed several shifts where he just wasn’t engaged. Disturbing. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Hutson is awesome. Unexpectedly kept the PP alive with two excellent plays at the blueline.
Peter Puck
We've given up a single odd man rush. Partly that's due to Minnesota's style of play but nevertheless that's the least number for us in any game this year.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Wow. Idiotic deke attempt by Struble resulting in a stupid 4-minute penalty. Very uncharacteristic brain cramp from Struble, who normally makes the safe play.

Funny, when we had about 25 seconds to go after a great extended kill, I said to myself, ‘OK, they will get scored on right toward the end of the PK.’ Some things are inevitable. At least with this bunch. 🙄
