Epic penalty killing.

I thought Guhle had a particularly strong first period. Didn’t like Barron, who made at least two significant blunders.

Guhle has had a great game.

I really wonder if the move back left is going to elevate his game noticeably.

I hope so. I never liked using him on the wrong side.

Cooley is a much better player than Slaf right now.

Ian Cole, who I watched in a nice but limited role in Van, seems to be thriving in a bigger role with Utah.

Weird that Struble has 2 goals in 2 games while Hutson has zero. Struble has had a terrific game, though.

First game in a while where Dach shows signs of life. EDIT: uggh, then he gets turned around on the GWG :(

Felt strangely like a road game, but the Habs played solid team hockey.

After 22 games Sergachev's 6th goal puts him half way to breaking his personal single season best (10 goals).

I still get aggravated thinking about that trade

You need 2 points from these types of games (well rested playing at home against a non- playoff team) if you hope to get back in the playoff race. They just aren't generating many chances. Is it just me or is Hutson starting to look a little tired? Is the grind of the NHL season wearing him down a bit. Struble looked good, solid. Had no idea he had such a good wrist shot. That was a laser.

I still say they should be called the Utah Beauts (‘buttes’). But no one listens to me, alas

I like your name but I have little influence with the decision makers.

I thought the Habs played a pretty good game overall but these stats are kind of ugly for the most part.

I agree, I thought the team as a whole played pretty structured, hard-working hockey. This is another case where the stat card seems off, especially re: Guhle.

Funny, I also thought Hutson looked slightly less energetic than usual, like he was a 1/10th slower in his moves than normal. Fatigue wouldn’t be surprising, but then again with MM out he probably was pushed past his normal limit.

That's how I saw it, just not the same jump as usual. Not terrible, just not dynamic.

Anyone catch what Savard did to earn a 10-minute misconduct at the end of the period?

He said something to the ref.

I thought Utah had just figured out how to play Hutson on the power play.

He was not able to get many angled passes through seams. Most of them were parallel to the blue line. They kept him honest.

Not going to dwell on this game. Team played below average, but looked good doing it… if that makes sense. Mustered very few shots on UHC. Kept a lot of play to the perimeter defensively which was great. Penalty kill was good. Strong game by Montembeault. He kept us in it.

I can only guess we’ll see Primeau a couple of times in next 3 games. Please pray for him. His save percentage can only go up, right ? Right ? RIGHT ?

I'm guessing it wasn't Merry Christmas.

Maybe it was and the Ref wanted him to wish him Happy Hanukkah.

Slaf right now looks even worse than slaf did during his first season.

We saw what he’s capable of last year.

Seems to me we might be dealing with a too much too soon situation in regards to the contract.

Same thing happened after he went 1st overall.

He will be fine but he needs a heavy dose of humble pie to set him straight.
