What a period!

Lots of great plays going on everywhere. Armia saved a for sure goal on the PK with a smart stick.

Dach, Slafkovsky, Laine give up prime scoring chances every shift and they spend a lot of time in the Dzone. I bet their stats are going to be terrible again.

It’s fun to play good hockey

They've looked like a different team since Laine came back, frankly. I think it's a combination of the 'system' finally having kicked in, so they're playing coherent hockey at last, along with a jolt of excitement and confidence, and - most importantly? - the simple fact that adding a top-line offensive threat just does make your team better.

I thought Newhook had lots of jump right from the opening faceoff. Keep it up, #15.

Heineman saved 1 goal by checking his man in front of net, love his quickness.

I think Evans had 2 dumb turnovers on same shift.

Nice pass by Caufield to Newhook, i guess was a good poke check.

What did I miss? It looked like incidental contact to me.

Looked intentional to me

About what I expected....the bigger, better team wore them down as the game progressed.  I'm glad that Caufield got one at least.  Matheson looked weak on two goals, and Savard looked terrible on another.  Going 0-for on breakaways hurt.

So galley said give them the puck to get your 6 on 4. If the goalie leaves, can a player come out and make it 7 on 5? Pretty crowded, but you get one free touch where they can't score on the empty net. Teams are much more likely to try for the empty net from their zone when killing penalties because there's no icing.
