DON
11-20 team (29th place) vs 11-19 team (30th place); flip a coin which weak team wins this one. No lineup changes expected. Montembeault to start. Canadiens vs. Sabres: Game preview and how to watch "Yesterday, owner Terry Pegula flew to Montreal to meet with his freefalling club. The message wasn’t a threat to tear things down if the results didn’t change, but reportedly to inform the team that changes wouldn’t be coming, that Pegula has faith that the current group, assembled from years of high draft picks, has the ability to turn things around and get back to winning."
Prime Minister Koivu
Tough to say how this turns out. Wouldn’t mind a Slafkovsky hat trick but a Dach hat trick would do

Habs Fan in Edmonton
This is a game that worries me, Buffalo has gone 10 games without a win, something about the law of averages or getting a bounce they are due for. They didn't look bad when I watched them play the Leafs but they give up a lot of chances. I think they are still missing Dahlin. Plus the Habs might take them lightly which would be a huge mistake. I expect a fairly high scoring game.

Sabres stuttering, confused rebuild exemplifies what always worried me about rebuilding. Eternal purgatory.
xXx..CK..xXx
It’s not about making a prediction but I believe Buffalo is in tougher than us tonight. Coach Lindy Ruff was quoted as saying that this situation is his toughest fix yet in his entire illustrious coaching career. Their defense looks much weaker without Dahlin. At the same time, I would imagine that playing solid defense would be a priority of theirs as they look to turn their fortune around. Eternal purgatory. Yeah. It happens. We are betting a lot on a few players just coming into the system. We have used picks to to trade for players to jumpstart the process that haven’t worked out as yet. Lots of risk. Hopefully we will grab some more key players in the 2025 and 2026 draft and begin to roll. I like watching the progression. Ups and downs are part of the process. Take a page from Laine’s book and think positive. Reinbacher will be good. Reinbacher will be good. Reinbacher will be good. See ? Doesn’t that help ? Anyone who has read my comments over the years knows that I am very rarely an optimist about prospects. Basically, I don't believe 'em until I see 'em. Been burned too many times by too many prospect busts to share in fan excitement about this or that hypothetical future star.

We’ll have more luck. From 2022 to 2026 our picks should be higher statistically to be better than in the recent past. I like to think Bobby McFerrin said it best… ”In every life we have some trouble, but when you worry you make it double. Don’t worry, be happy.” Terry Pegula even flew to Montreal to tell his team the same thing. (He may have paraphrased it).

Prime Minister Koivu
I really hope Dach didn’t separate his shoulder 🥶 Great period by Montreal and Montembault made a couple of great saves.
DON
Just didnt think Laine would be burying the puck after long lay-off and pre-season injury. Love it. Tough injury for Dach, assume is his arm/shoulder he fell on. He really dosent need another injury set back, hope is minor or maybe he is back in 2nd period. DON
1st line 0 shots Matheson with 4 shots. 11-3 in shots, guessing Habs come out flat, shot total will reverse and even out in 2nd period.

Prime Minister Koivu
If Laine keeps this up for the rest of this season and next season too then he is going to get a nice contract. Perhaps he loves Montreal and wants to sign a reasonable deal? Evans, Heineman, Armia are tough to play against. They forecheck and cause turnovers
