We’re getting a little ahead of ourselves but since the Habs would be second wildcard and Washington has the highest points total, the Habs would join the Metro Division part of the bracket. Since it is a fixed bracket, we would face the winner of Carolina and New Jersey. Carolina against New Jersey is pretty close to official so should the Habs make the playoffs, that portion of the bracket is fairly accurate already. I’m guessing it would be Carolina, but you never know. Quote

Thinking about going to the game against Detroit next week and have similar thoughts. Unfortunately the Rangers won 5-4 in overtime tonight against Minnesota so they’re tied with us in points once again. Quote
Habs Fan in Edmonton Posted April 3, 2025 Posted April 3, 2025 Watched the end of the Ranger game, too bad. The Habs just have to take care of business, can't take the Bruins lightly. It would be a shame to win back to back games against the defensing cup champions and then come up flat against the Bruins. Quote

They have Colorado tonight, Toronto, Ottawa twice, Washington twice. Let’s hope the other teams they face do what they’re supposed to. I agree though, especially with Monahan returning and playing well and Columbus coming off of an 8-4 win. They and the Rangers both pose a threat. Let’s hope the season of underperforming continues for the Rangers, and the Jackets don’t handle their schedule well. Quote

xXx..CK..xXx Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 A couple of models in regards to how many points may be needed to qualify for the playoffs and what would be needed to achieve that. The consensus seems to be that it will take roughly 88-90 points to qualify. Record needed for 88 points (8) Montreal Canadiens: 3-3-1 (81 pts., 7 GR) (9) New York Rangers: 4-2-1 (79 pts., 7 GR) (10) Columbus Blue Jackets: 5-2-1 (77 pts., 8 GR) (11) Detroit Red Wings: 5-1-1 (77 pts., 7 GR) (12) New York Islanders: 5-0-2 (76 pts., 7 GR) Quote
Habs Fan in Edmonton Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 Not worried about Detroit or the Islanders but today it's definitely Go Devils Go !!! Quote
xXx..CK..xXx Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 Devils are winning 2-0 after the second period and the Rangers haven’t won a game all season after being down by multiple goals within a game. Columbus plays the Leafs later. I’m not sure I can go as far as to say “Go Leafs Go” but I suppose we are rooting for them today. Hopefully they can return the favor we did for our weak little brother when we defeated the Panthers back to back and helped them on their quest to finish first in the division. Quote
tomh009 Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 4-0 Devils with two minutes remaining. I think we can stick a fork in this one. Quote

Commandant Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 5-1 now. We could do real damage with a regulation win tomorrow. Quote
