5-1 now.

We could do real damage with a regulation win tomorrow.

Yup. Big swing game for us tomorrow. Detroit is the bigger worry now.
Rangers and Wings need us to falter.

Likely the death knell for them both if we can grind out a regulation win tomorrow.

Circle the wagons and prepare for the kitchen sink to be thrown at us.
I know we’ve been playing some meaningful games, but this one has the most meaning yet.

Now 87.4% to make playoffs.

Detroit 5.5%

Rangers 3.5%

CBJ and NYI also playing tomorrow. Let's see whether the boys can come out flying and crush the Red Wings.

A regulation win against the Wings tomorrow must move our odds of making the playoffs to at least 93% I would think?

Things are looking good.

That’s Detroit’s end to the season which I update periodically on the original post. Good news indeed.

Anyone know how much one play off game cost earns a team profits?

I am thinking maybe that’s the reason the Habs sign Demidov for  a years worth of salary for a week and playing (is that what just happened or is it prorated?). But if f he helps win a game come playoffs …

what’s the money made with an extra game played in the playoff for a team at home?

The salary is prorated

I feel like around 10 years ago, the general estimate was that a home playoff game was around $2M in revenues for the Habs.  While capacity has dipped a bit since then, it's probably a fair bit higher than that now.

A win vs Ottawa would be awfully nice …

1 point behind them then. Then likely get blown out vs Leafs the next day.

Celebrini had himself a night. 5 points… now just 2 points back of our boy Lane.

Rangers are toasted.

Now we need them to beat Isles in regulation tomorrow.

Scoreboard watching Thursday, Friday and Saturday… fun times.

All I can say is, if I saw those numbers for any other team, I would be assuming that wild card race is over.

It’s not, technically, over, of course - and as Lenny Kravitz sings, it ain’t over ‘til it’s over. But damn. This team ❤️

Yes, technically it's not over but pretty darn close to being over. I guess we can look at Kapanen and Demidov as our trade deadline acquisitions.

Hughes deserves full credit. He played the deadline exactly right, in retrospect - neither weakening a  team that has ended up (almost certainly) making the dance, nor shipping out assets unnecessarily. He challenged the team to rise and they sure did.

Magic number vs any team is 3 (only 1 for the Rangers). Let's go for a wildcard pretender sweep tonight (CBJ, FLA, NYI losses) and the Habs can officially clinch on Friday.
