I don't feel bad about what I said. But that doesn't mean I'm okay with my character being called into question, rather than the context of my posts. Look, I know I'm not going to convince you. Since joining this group I've seen you play this "moral grandstanding" card more than anyone. I've seen you center in on a guy for saying "Canadian bottom six vs European bottom six", I've seen you center in on the another's (perceived) emphasis on the use of the word "she", leveling implications, if not out right accusations of misogyny. You do this as if to say "sit down and shut up". You do what you want. I think it's low class and a cheap, uncalled for debate tactic. To each their own. You can go ahead and save the world, I'm just here to talk Hockey. I'm just not going to sit back and let my character get smeared in the process. Good question. On one hand Reinbacher is only 20 and hardly played last year so you would think some time in Laval would be good for him. On the other hand Savard retired and the Habs traded Mailloux which means they expect him to be a regular at some point. I think it depends entirely on what kind of camp he has. If he has a mediocre camp then he likely heads to Laval with one of the lefties playing the right side to start the year.

I think its a much higher chance, he goes to Laval, dominates and we see him at midseason.  Maybe we deal matheson for a centre.... or we deal struble as part of a package for a rental C ar that point and Reinbacher is ready.

 

Part of it is just how many games he missed

Agreed, this is how I see it playing out as well.

In my scenario Hutson starts on RD cause thats where he finished last year and if Matheson is traded he moves back to.LD.

No shaming. Just a perfectly factual comment: mental health is a very serious thing. We have had other players struggle with it in the past, both on the Habs and elsewhere--not to mention all the people outside of hockey. It's a real, serious problem and I think all of us should recognize that.

Not really interested in Roslovic, would rather save the cap space for other opportunities that might pop up during the season. He was a healthy scratch in many of Carolina's playoff games, 14 points in 45 playoff games,  .5pts/game during the regular season, only marginally better than Dach's output. I would rather go with Dach and wait for other opportunities.

He's been connected to the Leafs and is willing to wait to let them try to open up cap space.  Considering it was suggested that the Habs felt they couldn't afford to keep Armia at 2.5, I don't think they're a feasible landing spot for Roslovic now who's likely to get more than that.

Seems like the Leafs have cap space now, even if they didn't I believe they can go over a certain amount before the season starts. Don't see why the Leafs would be interested as they got an excellent 3c in Roy. I don't think Roslovic is Berube's type of player

to me, he'd have to be a stop gap.  And I kinda like him.  I'd do it. 

 

It would be a no-brainer if he was a lefty. 

 

the righty thing complicates things and the Habs may be waiting for the Lefty who can kill penalties at this point.

 

I think management is thinking we can make do with Dach/Newhook in the 2 role to start the season, but we need to replace Dvorak.

Is Evans strong enough or skilled enough for 3C?

 

Laine - Evans - Newhook

Anderson - Beck/Kapanen - Gallagher

 

 Beck looked decent at times and not great at other times in the few games that he played last year. Insulated between two vets Beck might do all right. 
 

My preference is a trade but this set up might work

My inclination would be to keep Evans with Anderson and Gallagher as that combo seems to work well together.

 

But we'll find out what St-Louis thinks after the dog days of summer when the training camp starts ...
