I expect pretty close, maybe only one zero less!

AAV and term both seem very reasonable ... Guess Laine wasn't the attraction some of us had hoped.

Im not convinced Hughes even tendered an offer - partially based on his presser yesterday.

I think Hughes wants a 22-24 year old

There were rumours for about a week that he preferred to stay in the west.

Is Dufus trying to force Crosby to request a trade?  Or has Sid told him he wants the chance to mentor Gavin McKenna?

30 kids 6'4" or taller taken in 1st 3 rounds.

Seems more jumbo kids than usual.

It would be interesting to take a look at the big kids' success rates vs the smaller ones in a few years--are they actually more successful, or not?

If Ken Holland is trying to turn the Kings into the oldest team in the NHL then he is well on his way. Looks like desperation to me.

Great research question. For somebody, LOL.

Size helps and you can only go so far as a team of “Smurfs” (remember 2010?) but I continue to think it is way overrated as an indicator of individual player success. Maybe I’m wrong.

Who’s his AGM🤣

how many of his former players are there now?

Interesting that Ehlers hasn't signed yet. You would think he wants to go to a contender that obviously must have cap room. Carolina fits the bill, so does Winnipeg. I thought the Leafs would take a run at him to replace Marner but they would have to do some juggling to have enough cap room.

there is always one guy who can't make a decision.

From all the "talk" the last place he wants to go is under the TO microscope ... same for Montreal

Or who has a couple of offers and is playing chicken to see which team blinks first

The danger with that is that one team might get tired of waiting and say "screw it" and go in a different direction, then he is left with one choice. I don't think with Ehlers that it's all about the money.

There are no real UFA options remaining, so "screw it" now means either standing pat or giving up a fair bit in terms of assets to trade for someone comparable.

That is correct, a team might just decide to stand pat instead and save the cap room for the trade deadline.

I know Commandant has mentioned Roslovic before. I wonder if the fact he is unsigned means a lack of interest or he is asking too much. I think he would be a marginal upgrade but maybe on a 1 year deal?

Bigger kids are given a much longer leash, especially with a higher draft pedigree. McCarron's a perfect example. Draft picks in the first couple of rounds whose height starts with a 5 better be pretty special. Which is kind of funny, point me to that long list of successful 6'5" NHLers vs a 5'10" player, even in the modern era.

I think after Suter signed he will be next. Probably today

With Winnipeg signing Nyquist, I wonder if they think they might be out.  I'd add Washington to the mix for Ehlers as well.
