Exactly. Surely, on Draft Day, it never felt lik Romanov would have been moved for the 13th pick to draft a prospect. Felt like it was part one of a 2 trades plan all along. 1 Quote

GHT120 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I expect the PTO is just to allow him to play one last game in a Pittsburgh uniform before signs a one-day contract to retire as a Penguin. Quote
dlbalr Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I don't know if he'd need the one-day contract. A PTO agreement is a contract in itself so technically, he would retire as a member of the Penguins. He's expected to play a period or so. Quote

Just would seem to me to be more respectful to do it through the usual means of a one-day contract after using the PTO to get him into a game. Quote

Both Van and NYR seem to have been gong-shows last season. Miller is a hell of a warrior, but he also seems to be one of those people (like PK Subban) who’s “a lot.” I wonder if the Rags are overcompensating for a country club atmosphere by giving the C to a guy who brings the exact opposite vibe - but who also may eventually start driving people crazy. Who knows. Quote
GHT120 Posted September 26 Posted September 26 *** IF *** , as widely speculated, Barkov's knee injury is season ending does Marchand convince Crosby it's time to have a tan all winter? Quote

I am guessing Barkov will be healthy just in time for playoffs. Good point about the Panthers being interested in Crosby but what do they offer Pittsburgh? They don't have a 1st round pick until 2028 and have a very weak prospect pool. Other teams could offer far more. Quote
Habs Fan in Edmonton Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Plus with Barkov out for the year (assuming that's the case) the price for 2nd line centers just went up. Hopefully Dach can rebound. Quote

I don't think Sidney has enough respect for Dumbass or the ownership to give the chance ... if he's nice he will give them the names of TWO teams Quote

Agree ... but nobody knows whether Tkachuk and/or Barkov will be 100% healthy, or even healthy enough to play effectively ... imagine the luxury of being able being able to rotate Barkov/Crosby/Tkachuk (assuming no other injuries). Hopefully Dach can rebound. 7-9 months so they're going to have a decision to make. If they say he's done for the year and playoffs, they can get the $10M in cap room but can't activate him for the playoffs. If they want to keep him playoff-eligible, then they're only eligible for the ~$3.8M in LTIR room (based on the NHL's average salary). Quote

dlbalr Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Kaprizov signs for eight years at $17 million per. That's a new NHL record for AAV and total money (beating Ovechkin's 15-year contract from way back). Quote

Edmonton better be ready to pay up Quote
