KoZed
Canada doesnt even get a medal in the Olympic hockey? You have to be kidding me! Canada gets shutout a 3th time this tournament. Think that would have happened if Staal, Tanguay, Spezza or Crosby would have been in the lineup instead of Bertuzzi, Doan and Draper? sbhatt
Except for Brodeur and Luongo, Team Canada played like a bunch of bums. In fact, they ought to put little pictures of every player but Brodeur and Luongo on the front page of every newspaper in Canada tomorrow under a big bold headline that simply reads: BUMS
Ribeiro
######! :puke: Why they chose a brainless lunatic like Bertuzzi over a young guy like Michael Ryder or Sydney Crosby, or a proven veteran like Paul Kariya makes no sense. Absolutely no sense. Canada doesnt even get a medal in the Olympic hockey? Damn embarrassment. Even USA Basketball walked away with a bronze 2 years ago. Canadian hockey gets nothing? What a joke. Prime Minister Koivu
It sucks. Spezza and Heatly should have been together. How many goals have they scored this year? The only positive thing for me is that it doesn't hurt as much as when the Habs get put out of the playoffs. Go Habs Go :hlogo:
sbhatt
I said it all along....this team was poorly selected. Foote, Blake, and Pronger looked like pile-ons out there. Shane Doan, Goontuzzi, and Draper being there over Staal, Crosby, and Spezza was a joke...I'd gladly take any of those guys and move them to the wing. Sickening. sakiqc
What the heck with the disallowed goal?!! 2 times the reffs whistled too early ARGH It's easy to say we could have put other players in this team. But we have to realize hockey is a TEAM sports and Canada's 3rd team could win gold. Canada didn't play a very inspired game.. not as inspired as -lets say- the Canadian Junior Team use to play. Canada didn't play to dominate, to show our supremacy. Well, hockey isn't only for canadians. The other countries are developping awesome players and heck, even the Swiss learned well how to play the game. Good luck to the Finns. Gotta love underdogs with spirit. Think that would have happened if Staal, Tanguay, Spezza or Crosby would have been in the lineup instead of Bertuzzi, Doan and Draper? We won a gold, what do you mean??? Who will replace Quinn and Gretzky? Gainey Carbeneau? Wouldn't hurt. Maybe we should go with a winning manager and a winning coach next time. Not a great old player and whoever is coaching in Toronto. Remember, Gretzky told Roy he would have to try out for the team? What was that? Get out of it, you hung up your skates, step away from the rink. I will hang my head in shame until the Worlds. I hope Saku and his fellow Fins keep it up. They are looking good. So, how do we get Selanne?
shortcat1
I do think that some of you are missing a good point here. Which teams of consequence have absolutely NO CANADIENS players on them? CANADA, THE US, SWEDEN, etc. Which teams are biting (or should I say have been bitten?) CANADA, THE US. The SWEDES have moved on to the semi's but, come on... give us a break... no matter how well the Swiss did, they're still not in the 'same league' as the big 7 (Canada, Russia, USA, Finland, Sweden, Slovakia & the Czech Republic). I know that this is biased, narrow-visioned, myopic, stilted & unfounded but, hey, why not? I'm a Canadiens fan. :hlogo: :king: Edited February 23, 2006 by shortcat1
kaos
Can't wait to read the papers tommorrow, about how the Canadians suck, and Gretzky should hang and he was a distraction and Quinns a bum....well actually he is a bum, but I don't think I'll be reading that in the Toronto Daily Rags
CoRvInA
So, how do we get Selanne? If the Finns get Gold or BRonze (both winning sensations) Preffer the first option! and assuming Koivu slipt him a contract to sign in his sleep (mind control whatever) ... he'll go back to Anaheim and ask to be traded! (wishfull thinking) Jokinen will follow! Perhaps a Trade with Dallas migth come out of this too!

Ummm...Wayne...want to explain to me how the F@!K that happens???!!! Canada not making the Semi- Finals was 25 to 1. That's why. What a fool that Pronger, he must be the dumbest all time! Well be glad, in four years you will have a much younger team. All those guys that couldnt play like a team are gone. I'm also very dissapointed in Sakic's play. He was invisible. I know you guys want Heatley-Spezza together, cuz they have chemistry playing together in Ottawa. But Lecavelier - St. Louis - Richards played a lot together yesterday. That's one hell of a line, but didn't show up yesterday (allthough it was one of the best lines yesterday, but not good enough)
