GHT120 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I'm not expecting anything with Hutson before the New Year and likely not until next May/June Quote
TurdBurglar Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 I agree with GHT. As good as Hutson's rookie season was, there's only realistically 2 scenarios. The first being he signs a bridge this off-season and the second being they wait to give him a bigger body of work to assess what he would look like on a longer contract, so a mid-season or next off-season deal. Signing a player to a massive deal after just a single season in the NHL is a bit reckless. He's going to be an RFA, so there's no real rush to get him signed now. Quote

With no offer sheet or arbitration rights, there aren't as many pressure points as there normally are. The only real pressure point will be September 15, 2026 as that's the last day an eight-year contract can be signed. It wouldn't shock me if it took until closer to then for it to be done. Quote
