Prime Minister Koivu Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Leafs, Habs game one… The rivalry isn’t quite the same but as we begin to meet each other in the playoffs you can bet the hate will return. Second Half Slaf promises to start playing in October this season and that would help keep the Suzuki line among the top in the league. But our season is about the depth of talent that is forming GO HABS GO 1 Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 I will add the lines when they come out. Quote
DON Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 How much will Dobson, Bolduc, Demidov impact game? Will a healthy Laine be much quicker and how will Dach handle 1st real test of knee in a long time. Canadiens @ Maple Leafs: Game preview and how to watch The fact that Hughes would fire a second salvo mere days later, exchanging Logan Mailloux for Zachary Bolduc, merely confirmed and reinforced how much the front office believes in the roster before them. The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 I sincerely wish we started every season against Boston, which is by far our greatest and most authentic rival, instead of the Leafs. But anyhow, there’s no arguing with the Toronto media BS. The Leafs do form an unusually intriguing storyline this time because of the “how much will they miss Marner” question. Looking forward to seeing the guys DON mentioned in action. Quote
Butterface Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 The real Christmas morning has arrived. These teams are a little more even now. Maybe the Leafs still edge us in fire power, but we have enough skill to keep up and we are deeper defensively. Probably will come down to goaltending or PP/PK tonight. Let’s see what Santa put under the tree. Quote

I am somewhat worried he will be the difference maker… but I’m saying 3-2 or 4-2 Canadiens. Quote
Commandant Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 I don't see them going Primeau in game one of the season. Stolarz is the starter. Quote
JoeLassister Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Lol. If I'm Stolarz and my coach decides to play the recently waivers acquired backup over me for home opening game in a market like Toronto, I think I might go up to the GM's office and request a trade during warmup. 1 Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 I’m pretty excited to see our new players and the line combos. I really, Really, REALLY want Demidov to torch the leafs tonight Quote

The pressure in Toronto is as intense or more intense than Montreal. If Stolarz gets hurt and Primeau gets overwhelmed by pressure before Woll returns … Kapowweee. If Demidov can help chase Stolarz from the net, I won’t be able to roll over in my sleep tonight. Quote

Im excited to see how he fairs over the year. I just hope team defense doesnt take a big hit. Armia was elite defensively and Devo was excellent as well. The twam looks better on paper offensively, but defensively maybe not. Go habs go. Quote

skifaster Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 What does Montreal have that Toronto doesn't? A color photograph of the last time they one the Stanley Cup Quote
brindavis Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Very strange seeing Primeau in Leafs blue and white Quote
The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Listless opening ceremony as befits a crap franchise, but classy tribute to #29. Also a tasteful anthem singer, which is all too rare nowadays Quote
Butterface Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 A brutal no look backhand pass in defensive zone by Matheson. A couple of bad cross ice passes in the O zone .. wtf. Stupid to begin the game. Quote
The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 On the plus side MM and Dobson had an amazing sustained shift in the O zone EDIT: really stupid penalty by Laine. Dammit Quote
tomh009 Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 Leafs PP: 1 shot on net, 3 shots against, 1 goal against. Quote
