Prime Minister Koivu Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Not what I was expecting and I’m not a fan - let’s see how they do and how long these combos stick 1 Quote
BCHabnut Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Thanks for doing that pm. I would do them but im terrible with computers and im not a very good writer. Quote
DON Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Similar, I used to do them but bit seemed more micky mouse and like your poll guestions, beyond my technical savvy. So got lazy. SO i would be OTHER to your poll guestion. Quote

I want to see how Demidov is with a more skilled guy like Dach and how Dach responds to the opportunity. Having Kapanan on the line still provides some defensive awareness. Much better than sticking Demidov with an Anderson or Velano. 1 Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted November 16, 2025 Author Posted November 16, 2025 Not a great period where Montreal is getting physically beat up Lots of special teams time so the lines were all messed up. I did like Davidson with Evans but it’s time for Veleno to go Bolduc, Dach, Demidov line had some good Ozone time Quote
dlbalr Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Well, that was a weird and eventful period. I get the idea of trying to play physical to get the team going but if there's one team that will backfire against, it's Boston as they have way more tough guys than the Habs do. Glad to see Evans get one to bail out Montembeault who has really been scrambly tonight. Too bad the power play couldn't do much with the two-man advantage. Quote

I hate putting Dobson on for 5 on 3’s. 1 Quote

hab29RETIRED Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Don’t get the pointless fighting - I hate the start the game with a fight. Xhejac was even dumber fighting with one dman already short. 1 Quote
brobin Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 You can’t score when you don’t shoot.. passing 30 times with no one in front of the net is stupid, Quote
hab29RETIRED Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Can we end the damn Dobson on the 5 on 3???? Quote
brobin Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Three straight penalties…if they don’t score on this one you can expect a Boston PP soon. Quote
hab29RETIRED Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Last year the PP strength was the PP running through Hutson at the point, a coupe of times Dobson and Hutson were tripping over each other. Dobson is supposed to be out there for his shot and his shot either sucked or he flubbed the chance. Quote

Interesting comment from one of the "expert guests" on TSN690 this week (don't recall who) that teams have adjusted to Hutson controlling the puck on the PP because he rarely shoots and when he does it usually isn't dangerous Quote
brobin Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 The Habs are not shooting.. 5 passes, at least one flubbed, allows the PK to keep position.. get a guy in the slot and get some shots.. the closest they came was a rebound. Quote

Much more velocity than last year. Dobwin flubbed most of his shooting chances and his shooting tonight looked worse than Hutson last year. when they first put Demidov on PP1, the movement by Demidov and Hutson was the strength of the PP. mow they had three guys standing close together (Dobson, Hutson and Auzuki and the bruins let the pass it around outside and nicked most of the shots. pathetic not to score on two 5 on 3’s!! brobin Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 And there is the Boston PP…so predictable, Quote
brobin Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 That didn’t take long.. notice how Boston gets a guy to the slot.. they didn’t just pass around the outside… the coaching staff needs to adjust… Quote

Prime Minister Koivu Posted November 16, 2025 Author Posted November 16, 2025 Thankful for the Caufield goal. Everything else was sad Quote

He hit a post today. If you are putting two dman on the PP, the other team knows that the shots coming from Dobson - that’s why he is out there. So the 5 on 3 is not only ineffective - it’s more predictable. Quote
