sbhatt Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 So the boys likely need to score at least 4 to have a chance at a point.ย ๐คฌ Quote
GHT120 Posted December 30, 2025 Author Posted December 30, 2025 My completely unrealistic hope, with absolutely no basis in fact or fiction, is that a trade is worked out but the new team wants to see him in an NHL game Quote
Neech Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 Here's hoping that Monty can turn over a new leaf. It would suck if he was a top 15 goalie when we were tanking and that now that we're trying to win he falls apart. Quote

LOLย I hear what you are saying though, going with 3 goalies just doesn't seem like any sort of long term solution and hopefully something can be worked out. It's a tough spot. Are they ready to declare Fowler the number #1 guy, trade Monty and go with basically 2 rookies in net the rest of the way? That seems risky. You can always send Fowler back to the AHL but they want to make the playoffs and perhaps they see Fowler as their best hope to get there. In any event if Monty can get back to form it would definitely help the situation. Don't know if he has much market value right now.ย Quote
JoeLassister Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 I hope Montembault comes back as a top 30 goalie so that Fowler can go back down for the season.ย Quote
GHT120 Posted December 30, 2025 Author Posted December 30, 2025 The Canadiens are not scheduled for a morning skate. For the full official lineup, check back on the teamโs social accounts on Instagram, Facebook and X closer to puck drop. Quote
The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 It's hard to feel confidence in Monty after the first half he had, but he did give us three quality years - that should count for something. Both for his sake and the Habs', I hope he comes back strong., like Josh Anderson did after losing the plot a couple of years ago. Quote

Entering this season, my concern about Monty was that this was the first season he and the Habs were expected to win ... he has never struck me as having the self-confidence of an elite goaltender and I feared what that pressure would do to him ... for his, and the Habs', sake I hope he proves me wrong Quote
GHT120 Posted December 30, 2025 Author Posted December 30, 2025 ย ย Clearly showcasing Xhekaj for a trade ...ย ๐ย ย ย ย ๐ย ย ๐คช Quote
Neech Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Great first period, Monty solid too. Just need to connect on one of these chances. Quote
The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Really gross ad by Air Canada on RDS, using Habs to give travel tips to various American cities. Perhaps they missed the memo that the White House is explicitly seeking to destroy Canada. ย F**k off Air Canadaย ย On a happier note, Texier is looking shockingly good with the Big Two up front Quote
The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Habs have been absolutely the better team from puck drop tonight. Yet itโs 0-0 and now we have a lame ass penalty call on CC. Bah Quote
The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 An unbelievable, all-star goal by CC followed by a nice blast from Slick Nick to tie it up. Outstandingย Quote
The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 As much as they try to turn Marchand into some hockey hero, he is a POS, has always been a POS, and always will be a POS. Quote

The Chicoutimi Cucumber Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Caufield and Suzuki really refused to lose tonight. They were fantastic. Absolutely the leaders on this team. ย Goal #2 was wonky but Monty had a strong outing overall. Good for him. ย Have I mentioned that Brad Marchand is a gutter-crawling, maggot infested, slime-encrusted piece of dogsh*t? Well he is. 1 Quote

sbhatt Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 That was quite the emotional rollercoaster.ย Monty looked really good...until he gave up the obligatory soft Monty goal.ย Still, any time you only give up two, that's a good start.ย It was good to see 13 and 14 will the team to a win.ย If we can get lines 1 and 2 both producing in the same game, I like our chances of upsetting the Canes.
