xXx..CK..xXx Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Hopefully no bad juju that we have the same thread starter as our last loss but let’s say that the playoffs are a new season and if we win, I shall be thankful. #traditionsuperstition Let’s go Habs! Pumped for the game, but I’m sure Dallas fans were yesterday as well. So, here’s to a good game and at the very least, a split on the road after the first two games. The good news is that I compare our team to Minnesota for one reason or another. They are a little tougher than us this season but I feel as though we have a similar chance to go on a deep run as they do. We were also very close in the standings, they started on the road yesterday, and I’ve often seen their franchise as similar to ours, just the western conference version. Keys to tonight: - Remain healthy - Stay out of the box/win special teams battle - Shut down/minimize impact of their top two lines - The goaltending battle is the big one for me Find a way to score a few goals on Vasilevskiy and we have a shot. He always seems to bring his best against us, but I believe we have an offensively talented team this year, and there have been teams in the past that didn’t have as much of an issue with him as we tend to have. Here’s to a new season and a different outcome than the last time these two teams faced. Quote
DON Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Irrelevant to game and playoffs; but for fans too bad it is Sportsnet showing the games, gonna miss the TSN Hab crew. Cant wait for drop of puck but also cant say i got a good feeling about this match up. Was great that Suzuki got 100pts but a Kucherov has 508 points in last 4 years. Or similar for Dobes play vs Vasilevsky's resume; but the russian hasnt done great in recent playoffs, so we can hope he is shaky again. Quote

MSL et al will do their best to minimize their exposure but a defensive zone start or an icing gives Cooper all the cards Quote
GHT120 Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 LINEUP NEWS The Canadiens are not scheduled for a morning skate on Saturday. For the full official lineup, check back on the team’s social accounts on Instagram, Facebook and X closer to puck drop. Is it bad news that the Canadiens don't know what day it is?😜 P.S. - They got it right in French Quote
GHT120 Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 TVA Sports: The Montreal Canadiens should open their first-round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning with nearly $27 million under the salary cap, barring any unforeseen changes to the lineup. If Brendan Gallagher ($6,500,000), Patrik Laine ($8,700,000), Joe Veleno ($900,000), Adam Engström ($896,667), David Reinbacher ($886,666) and Samuel Montembeault ($3,150,000) are in the stands, the Habs will have the smallest payroll in the National Hockey League as a curtain raiser. Those calculations also assume that Noah Dobson won't miraculously return to the game on Sunday afternoon. Interesting ... per Google Gemini they are also the youngest of this years' playoff teams Quote

It’s not like I was making a thread so I don’t really mind. However, if you were waiting so long, in the past when that has happened, the person makes a post to remind others to make a thread. Quote

Didn't take it personally ... but for the first playoff game I preferred to see a thread appeared organically rather than "guilt" anyone into doing it Quote
sbhatt Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Not even waking up to snow after enjoying a 24C sunny day yesterday can keep my energy down today. IT'S ON! Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Put Anderson on the second line in Texier’s spot Quote
brobin Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Nice play. Tampa has had the best of the play but not on the scoreboard. Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted April 19 Posted April 19 PP unit #1 stunk it up - unit #2 looked way better Quote
