Lots of them would be in some respect.  But they don't have the money to sign most of them.  Even with clearing half of Gallagher's deal, they only really have around $5M or so to spend once they re-sign Dach/Bolduc/Xhekaj.

An interesting name added to the market place, who is eligible for 1-yr, bonus based 35+ contact ... expect he will attract a lot of interest

Interesting low cost free agent.  Jeff Viel from Anaheim.  Quebec boy (Rimouski).  Hard worker.  Tough as nails   4th line guy who will stand up for his teammates and has some offensive upside.

Sounds like a Hugo guy.

Based on his history, seems like a 12/13th forward type ... but at the right price could be a good addition ... I'm a "gas de chez nous" advocate when possible

Four years, $17M for A.J. Greer in Anaheim.  Yowsers.

Wow! Verbeek plays hardball with McT last year and overpays for a player that is ideally a 4th liner, but can slide into the 3rd line.

There is always a GM who will overpay for a career season ... but in the modern salary cap context it is not a HUGE overpayment

It sounds like the Isles were offering a one-year deal which is what's sending him to the market.  He's looking for three years.

Someone will offer at least 2

Early-morning Montreal speculation:

- Likely to have interest in Mason Marchment but unlikely to offer the long-term deal he's expected to command.  (Does that mean they might try a short-term overpay?  They can't exactly afford that.)

- Expected to be a suitor for Claude Giroux after he didn't come to terms with Ottawa.  It wouldn't shock me if they sign him as a one-year C stopgap, using bonuses to give themselves some wiggle room.

Gary Bettman/NHL BoG: There is no salary cap issue with "no income tax states"

But smart move by the Panthers ... he likely plays 2-3 years and then is nothing but a blip of the "salsry cap screen" for the rest of the term

Jacob Trouba 4 x $8.25M to San Jose.  Good fit for them.  Let's see if that pushes the John Carlson market forward.  Speaking of which...
