Toledo Walleye (ECHL): Head coach from 2014 to 2016, where he won the John Brophy Award as ECHL Coach of the Year in 2015. Iowa Wild (AHL): Head coach from 2016 to 2018. Tampa Bay Lightning (2018–2022): He spent four seasons as an assistant coach under Jon Cooper, where he won back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 2020 and 2021. Detroit Red Wings (2022–2024): Lalonde served as the head coach of the Red Wings for over two seasons. He posted an 89–86–23 record before being let go in December 2024. Toronto Maple Leafs (2025–2026): Lalonde was hired as an assistant coach for the Maple Leafs in June 2025. Wonder what his connection to MSL and/or HuGo is. Quote

Also depends on when Letowski made his decision, assuming he did ... Pascal was hired by Seattle in mid-June. Quote

I just assume Lalonde was given a good reference from Cooper who St. Louis did play under. Not super complicated haha Quote
Commandant Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Habs PK struggled last year. Lalonde coached one of the better PKs in the league in toronto. It was really one of the only things the Leafs did well last season. Something to think about. Quote
