chief_balthor
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=162257&hubname= Wow... Darren sounds like a good guy and all, but I have absolutely no pitty for the guy. How can someone who played 11 seasons in the NHL file for Bankruptcy? Dammit man, I'd love to be making millions every year. NHLers always seem to mention how high their insurance is. Anyone have any clue how much it is? Even then, Darren probably should have had someone take care of his cash.

kenadian
From the TSN article............ "McCarty received $538,729 from the Red Wings when they bought out his contract, but his ex-wife Cheryl received 75 per cent of that - $404,046." If I ever need a divorce lawyer I'm gonna have to call Cheryl for their phone #. I'm surprised they didn't blame it on 9-11 and the SARS outbreak as well.................................. Mont Royale
Plenty is owed to casinos, and it's likely some of the other debts went to the same vice... that's a pastime that can empty deep pockets in a hurry.
