L'embarras du choix indeed.

I chose Kyle Chipchura.

The best thing is the likelihood most of the gents'll comprise the Habs of the future. Most of them are near-ready, younger and cheaper alternatives.

[Excellent work, prospectors. I hope André Savard didn't have a direct hand in your work, as he's departed  ]

Aubin looks great, but my vote went to Kosty.

YAY.. Ive never seen Aubin but I had a feeling about him and voted for him. Good to hear you talk well about him Maca since you have been watching him the past days.

I voted Lats just out of what I want to happen.

I know Kosty has the spot to lose but I wouldn't be surprised to see Grabovsky steal it from any of them. This guy is a gem.

I went with Chipchura even though Kostitsyn is (I believe) more NHL ready. I just feel that the only open roster spots are on the bottom lines and that that's more Chipchura's role than Kostitsyn's.

can't wait to see him in hamilton. then, we'll a pretty good idea of what kind of player we'll get

Kostitsyn was projected top 5 in the draft for a period before his bouts with epilepsy went public. He has the most potential and is ready to bust out. He should have been given more opportunity last year and will get lots of chances this year.

I did not vote for anyone because I really do not kow the players that well. One thing though, I do not want one of these young talents to be chosen for the 4th line, they would not develop as rapidly if kept on the 4th line. Your 4th line can be filled with players brought as has been done in the past. Give the Latendresse, Chipchura and the Kostitsyn ice time if they make the team. :hockey:

i picked Cote earns a spot - but sticking with an upset on D - perhaps Streit is in jeopardy to Benoit???

When Markov was hurt Streit did step up and play the power offensive defenseman role. Now mind you he certainly has plenty of room to improve but thats his upside. Its only going to be a matter of time when his skills, comfort level and experience payoff and he starts to dominate.

My (safe) money is on Grabovsky,

he did play the russian super elit league last year, has wowed the gallery at numerous world championships (eg: U-20, U-18 ....) and to be able to play with men in Russia does count for good experience in my book. So this is why my safe money GraboVSKY!!!!!

IMO we could maybe even start calling him Wayne cuz both of their names rhyme, I'm calling it now... Wayne Grabovsky, yup that sounds good... like superstar Wayne!!! :1special:

So far (according to the poll) it's between Andrei Kostitsyn, Guillaume Latendresse and Kyle Chipchura.

I don't think that Kostitsyn will be a big surprise if he catches a regular spot with the big club ... Gainey already said that another rookie will get a chance to play in the NHL and Andrei already has a few games under his belt.

As for Latendresse ... dunno how long he'll be out with his concussion but I think one or two more years in the LHJMQ won't hurt him.

Chipchura might be also better off starting the season in Hamilton as he'll get tons of ice-time over there.

Even better, I'm going to vote for "All of the above."

If that doesn't win, I'm going to go in by the back door and use the 'Pick one!' directive and say:

"Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! My new training camp surprise wil be Mike Ribeiro. From what I saw of him today, he looks much faster than he used to be. Really got quicker. Was possibly the bets player on the ice. Of course, he could have just been having a good day but since I know no one else picked him, I'll say him.
