ch_nl
Dick Tärnström didn't get any offers from NHL clubs. So he decided to play in Lugano in Switzerland. He says that if a NHL team offers a contract he will look at it and his contract allows him to do so. Tärnström has 126 points in 258 games in the NHL. Tomas Surovy will play in Luleå. Reason? He wanted to play with his best friends. Jaroslav Obsut and Lubos Bartecko according to the local press and therefore leave the Penguins. Martin Cibak, another Slovakian will leave the Bolts and play for Frölunda. And finaly Ryan Jardine, Florida will play for Mora IK.
jetsniper
I'm surprised Tarnstrom didn't even get a sniff from a team. I know he's not great defensively but he can really chip in offensively.
Tony
Gonchar and Tarnstrom, WORST DEFENSIVE PAIR EVER.
ch_nl
Still Sergei Gonchar was second in team scoring with the Penguins in 04-05. Dick Tärnström was best the previous season. Maybe they didn't play well at their own end of the rink together but both are great at the offensive zone.
sbhatt
Both would be decent if paired with a strictly stay-at-home defenseman.

ch_nl
Milan Bartovic, Chicago Blackhawks will join Malmö in Swedish Elitserien. He played 24 games last season and took part in the World Championships for Slovakia. Bartovic is young (24) and I don't know why the Hawks gave up on him so soon.
