Hockey Betting Season

HABBER-oooooKNOWS

Recommended Posts

Hey, struggling to get out of the rumour thread.

Any of you guys get into online gambling. I joined sportsbook.com last year and had a blast betting on hockey. I had a decent season.

I live in Nashville now but I used to play Pro- line in Canada years back when the odds were amazing and was quite succesful.

Anyways, I thought if there is anyone interested we could talk about things like........

1. Bookies go off last years stats, so pick a dark horse to have shitty odds but win a bunch of games at the start of the season. ex. Colombus, Pittsburgh, Washington

2. I think detroit will start slow but their odds are always great so first ten games bet against them.

3.What teams will come out of the box with a ten game winning streak.

4. FUTURES- Who is going to win the cup this year.

5. Who will win the divisions. It's never the obvious and there is money to be made.

The reason I felt this thread would be good is because most guys here have a good sense for hockey. It's not just stats that win games. It's that insider info, the day to day musings that can give one the edge when it comes to gambling.

Who knows? I got hot last year for about 10 weeks in TOTAL and then went cold. If we can realize trends within ourselves we might be able to ride each others coat tails into a winning season.

ex. Johnnyhasbeen making his collect call on certain games

Or just simple stats like.....The habs owned Pittsburgh for years and that usually reflects in the odds on Sportsbook. This year I will take Pittsburgh as the underdog because I know Crosby will come through for his own personal satisfaction......it's a new trend I see continuing. I hate betting against the habs but they are a .500 team and they have been good to me. It's Boston and Toronto that endlessly screw with me. I don't touch them.

Habs go on losing streaks around christmas, and pretty much lose for sure every new years eve.

Habs are always good at the end of the season. Last ten games? all money on the HABS!!!!

The Wild never lose their first home game of the season.

It's a little long winded but I think it would be fun if there is anyone interested or enjoys this stuff like I do.

Just curious: what's the fun of gambling? I mean in general. I never understood it. Where's the thrill?

Could anyone explain?

I guess I wouldn't encourage it. For me it's just fun. The chance, risk, excitement of a possible pay-off. I'm careful with it. I mean, I set aside some money and once it runs out I'm done. I know for some people it can become a very ugly problem.

Last year I was in Vegas and wanted to bet a future, that the habs would win the Stanley Cup, but it was very hard to find odds because it was September just after the lock-out season. Not much info was available. That's when I tried Sportsbook, and bet almost every week on games. I started with a hundred and finished the season with 3 hundred. I was up to $1600 at one point and as low as $25.00.

They offer Player propositions aswell. That's where I made most of my money. For some reason they kept offering 2-1 odds on Ryder. Whether he would get 3 shots on goal in a game, yes or no. Of course I took it and won almost everytime.

An interesting fact for us Habs fans now. Samsonov was always listed as "will he get a point in the game of that night" 2-1, yes or no. I always said no with him and doubled my money. Let's hope that changes.

Well at least he is favored to get a point almost every game.
