BTH Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Who were the "last players" that he traded? Bertuzzi? Quote
CoRvInA Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 I meant what's next? How to fix the Knuckles? Trade Naslund alla Thornton?... Gonna fire the New Coach? I think Nonis is done Quote
Captain_Stealth Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 No way Nonis is done. It's WAY to early to say Nonis is done. The team is doing alright right now. Hands down way better than last year. Our drafting looks MUCH better under him and he's made the right decisions so far. The only thing that sucks is Mitchell and Salo are out and Tremblay is out in the minors as well. Quote
jetsniper Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 What the hell are you talking about? The Canucks have been playing well, why would they change anything? Yes Minny, that just came from me. Quote
CoRvInA Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 Its ok if you disagree I disagree ... it aint gona last they showed it last night! and dont say its cause Minny has their number history means nothing this season Quote

huzer Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 The Canucks are doing ok, it's not like they're playing like Phoenix, Philly or anything. Not only that, but they've played 4 games at home, and 10 on the road. Not a very favorable October schedule for them, and they came out at .500. Quote

Got caught up in the questionable calls then just fell. It happens. Losing Salo last night in the 2nd hurt though.... Fitzpatrick on the powerplay...all you need to know...... Quote
dark_faerie87 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Even though I'm one of the bigger Vancouver haters around, I will say that they're playing better than I expected so far this season...but how long will it last? Quote
jetsniper Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Its ok if you disagree I disagree ... it aint gona last they showed it last night! and dont say its cause Minny has their number history means nothing this season 1. If you remember correctly, most people predicted them to be one of the worst teams in the West this year. If was all over HW and TSN and a bunch of other places. 7-6 and whatever they are far exceeds peoples expectations, everyone assumed they'd have what Calgary's record is. 2. Minnesota is a powerhouse, losing to them means nothing. Just that Minnesota has a better team which I knew already anyway. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Minnesota is the best team in the Northwest division. WTF am I defending Vancouver? I'll throw in a "I hope we slaughter the Canucks tomorrow night at The Can" Quote

We've been decent actually. We're going to get better as the season goes on. Like huzer mentioned, the majority of the games played so far are road games. Also, this is a team that has gone through some big changes. Have to build chemistry. Quote

I don't know, I still think they're playing over the heads. Although I'll wait for the injured guys to get back into the lineup before passing final judgement on that. Quote
Captain_Stealth Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Mitchell is still a week away and it looks like Salo will be out a week. Edler, Coulombe and Rullier are the candidates to be called up. Better not be Rullier. Not looking good for tomorrow night. Quote

I for sure dont think they have what it takes... they have reached their peak! wait til the rest of the league reaches theirs .... although I'm biased here reg the laughs mind you... in the Canucks case I don't see it happening Quote

CoRvInA Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 Wha... Where did I mention the Leafs? hehe using the same premise of expectations as you used for the canucks you defend so much... it should apply to the laughs too right? werent the Laughs thought to be at the very bottom? look at where they are now... Do you think they will stay there? I dont think so! Quote

Captain_Stealth Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Alexander Edler will make his NHL debut tomorrow against Colorado! Can't wait to see how he does. Quote

Do you think they will stay there? I dont think so! They may, they may not. Obviously everyone thought they'd suck but I can use the same point for them as well. Fergie's head shouldn't be on a stick as long as they're winning, which they're doing. If you win, you're left alone. Thats all there is to it. Minny, who the hell is Edler? Salo's replacement? Quote
Captain_Stealth Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Minny, who the hell is Edler? Salo's replacement? Yes he's Salo's replacement. Edler is a guy who's not well known. Thomas Gradin(our Swedish scout) is very high on him and he played way up north in Sweden. Philly and Detroit's Hakan Andersson were apparently the only other teams who knew about him and were really high on him so we snuck right in front of them in the 3rd in the 04 draft to nab him. He was the highest scoring rookie d-man in the WHL playing for the Kelowna Rockets last year. Needs more developing but the thing that interests me is that his defensive game needs work. He might look like a deer in the healights out there tomorrow but I would love to be surprised. Defense should look like this: Ohlund-Bieksa Krajicek-Bourdon Fitzpatrick-Edler Should be interesting. Well at least for getting to watch Edler play I hope. Quote
