Bacchus Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Got those black, yellow, orange, and red jerseys were so ouhgaly! :puke: Much prefer the vintage jerseys (make that another one for vintage!) I call it vintage because it is actually an old jersey. The habs use a Vintage jersey too. However the Atlanta 3rd jersey is not vintage ... it is actually newere than the other two. If any of their jerseys are vintage it would have to be their regular jersey because it is the oldest ... but since it is still in use it can't be called vintage. Quote

I really, REALLY liked the skate jersey. By far my favourite of the Canucks. Quote

Here's a did you know: When I was little I couldn't for the life in me figure out what a 'Canuck' was, so I thought it was a skate since the Canucks logo was a skate. Quote
jetsniper Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Hahaha... "Mommy, where'd I put my Canucks?" Quote
Pierre the Great Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 no joke I was stumped for at least 10 years. Couldn't figure out what that was. Then I thought it was some bear or something. Then when they went to the jersey they have now I just thought it was the local name for an orca. Quote
Captain_Stealth Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Won 3 of last 4. Scored 15 goals in those 4 games. We get Pyatt back tonight. Vigneault will stick with line combos! Minny tonight! GO NUCKS GO! B) Quote
shortcat1 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Who were the "last players" that he traded? Bertuzzi? getting luongo was a good trade... it didn't cost him much of anything so far as i understand... he dumped a big salary for a big salary in return. i don't understand luongo's struggles... does vancouver have a weak defense? are they primarily an offensive-oriented team? or both of these? or something else? the other possibility is that luongo's 'true abilities' are coming through... his stats are not able to be hidden behind the 'weak team' scenario. i don't know... GO :hlogo: GO! Quote
Pierre the Great Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 A) Canucks Defence sucks B) They take so many penalties some times they play entire periods a man down. Quote

GO :hlogo: GO! If that was true, he would've sucked already with the Panthers. You have to be pretty damn good to set a record for most saves in a season. The Canucks defense sucks and they don't generate a whole lot of chances per game leading to generally consistent busy nights by Luongo. Quote

Pierre the Great Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 you mean they're worse than the canadiens...? wow! GO :hlogo: GO! Yeah they are definitely worse then the Habs. The Sedin twins and Naslund have slash-itis. One of the twins and Naslund the game I was at with the blues got a slashing penalty then got out of the box and then immediately got another penalty. Canucks should have won the Blues game 10-1 but they hand to come from behind. They played most of the first and second period a man down, then the Blues spent most of the third in the box and the Canucks scored on a 6-3 at the buzzer in the 3rd period then the offense finally woke up in the OT and scored at the buzzer on a 5-3 in OT to win. At the end of the game they had about 50 shots and the blues had 15 but those 15 shots came during power plays. In fact during the third during a penalty kill the Canucks acted like they were on the power play keeping the puck, passing it around in the blues end. The 20 blues fans started to boo. lol. But then again Canucks were playing the Blues. Quote

But then again Canucks were playing the Blues. They aren't as good as the Habs. This year we are in a "rebuild" type year. Made some big changes and just threw in fillers. I see next season as the big season right now. With the Canucks, they've struggled as a whole. Their defense doesn't suck though... sometimes they area bit flat but they're a pretty solid group. About 3 games ago, Vigneault had made Mitchell the top shutdown guy which has allowed Ohlund to be more offensive. So far in those 3 games, Ohlie has a goal in each game. Bieksa continues to look amazing as well. Edler has been a pleasant surprise, but he should be up right now...not Tremblay... The problem with our defense right now is Salo has been out a lot. He's most likely back Tuesday and we'll see how long he lasts... The thing with this team is we couldn't finish. Vigneault tried every combo possible and has finally gone to the ones that were projected at the start of the season. Bulis with the twins and the Nazzy-Mo-Cooke line. Morrison from the past few games, looks like he's finally recovered. Cooke is back at his agitating best and Bulis is clicking with the twins. The offense looks to finally have awoken....except one player. Markus Naslund seems like he's lost all his confidence. He'll make a nice assist here and there, but he hasn't scored for a while now. Hopefully it's only a matter of time for him. Now for Luongo. He was great early on in the season but seemed to be getting frustrated. You would feel cheated sometimes if you've seen some of the goals that get scored on him. Just so frustrating to watch these incredibly lucky bounces keep going in consistently. Lately, it seems like he's turning his game around again. He's been stellar. We finally had a bounce go our way last night... finally! Even with me watching this team from the start of the season, I can't tell you whether they match Jet's description of them. They can dominate at times and sometimes look lost. Our great penalty kill has saved us a number of times and lately it's looking unbelievable. I'd consider us a wildcard right now still. We "look" to have turned the corner as well. If they can keep playing like they have, we "could" be a team to watch out for. Especially if Salo can come in and stay healthy. Or dare I say it...Nazzy return to form. Quote
Pierre the Great Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Canucks have ADDHD. One period they look lost in the lights and bored. Next period they look like they're awesome again. And then in the third they are something in the middle. When I meant 'worse' I meant in terms of taking penalties. Quote
CoRvInA Posted December 23, 2006 Author Posted December 23, 2006 I keep sticking it ( with dosis mind you) to Canuck fans and they blantly answer back... I DON"T CARE ANYMORE !!! fans have given up on the team! SAD Quote

I DON"T CARE ANYMORE !!! fans have given up on the team! SAD Yes! I was getting bored! Sure. The team is on and off and while even I'll admit it's been happening a bit more than I was expecting this team is still three points back of top spot in the NW division. With 5 of the next 6 games against Calgary and Edmonton, it will be a huge test forthe Canucks. How well they do in this stretch shall really determine where this team is. With key players playing through injuries and underperforming, it's frustrating to follow this team. It shall be interesting to see how they do. Quote
Pierre the Great Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 you're right lol it looks like it will come down to the wire. lol one week we could be out of the playoffs and the next week we're the 3rd seed in the playoffs lol. crazy. Quote

It sure is. However, our future actually looks decent for once. That is one area where I actually think I'd really praise Nonis. He looks to have really turned our drafting around. We actually have some guys to look forward too! If this season goes down the drain, we can add to that group as we have a 1st and three 2nds. Quote
Pierre the Great Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 yup the team is going in the right direction, well I think so anyway. Quote

Once some of the youth can step in is when I think we'll finally start seeing results. However Canucks.com looks like an erupting volcano right now! Quote
