You would never run out of juice. Electric would be the city car.

Never run out of juice? Many jurisdictions are struggling with the current demands on their power grid, and that's without the enormous demand that an electric car-based society would place on it.

So, more nuclear plants, or would you prefer coal?

The results are in for Hollands election.

150 seats in parliament

41 - Christian Democrat (governing party)

32 - Labour Party

26 - Socialist Party

22 - VVD

9 - Freedom Party

6 - Christian Union

6- Green Party

2 - Party for Animals

WOW Awesome Results! Here comes a crazy coalition. The governing party will have to have the fringe parties in its government ouch. I wouldn't want the Freedom Party in my coalition.

Yeah it's gonna be a lot of work to get a Coalition. And than even harder to make it last 4 years. I voted for the Christian Democrats again. They lost 3 seats. The Labour Party lost around 10. The Socialists won around 14 orso. And new is the Freedom Party. That guy is pretty Radical, and i dont like it one bit that around a half a million Dutchies voted for him. (he is pretty much against the islam, and that the influence of the islam is getting bigger in Holland) probably the most right party on the right wing. They are pretty much neglected by the rest of the Party's.

Dont you find it insane that we have a party for Animals, people are going insane here! Offcourse there is a lot to improve, but there are situations that need to be handled first.

BTW VVD means; People's party for Freedom and Democracy (it was always the party for the upperclass, and business people)

I didn't want to bring it up because its not my place and thing to decide.

At the Grit convention they are floating this idea. This is just Harper stealing their thunder to appease Quebecer's IMO. Politics can be such a goofy game sometimes

When has that stopped you before?

Ah because I always get in trouble. Everyone knows my opinion anyway hell I'm Pierre the Great whose political icon is Trudeau. lol. Its not hard to figure out where I would stand on the issue. Do I think Quebec should stay in Canada? Yes. Why? Because I don't want to see Quebec suffer because they just can't do it economically anymore. The birth rate is extremely low, people are moving out of the province to Ontario or out west. I'd ask the francophone's here who are not living in Quebec why they don't live in Quebec. That would anger some so I don't ask. The reason Quebec can't do it is because they'd go broke within 5 minutes of separating and they'd never recover. Quebec has no economic power anymore. Manufacturing? Thats gone. All the government headquarters moved to Toronto. And that hydro power, thats in Labrador as in Newfoundland and Labrador. Canada would still own it and Quebec would have to pay to get it. And lets be honest here Quebec has it good with there payments they get every year. If they left they wouldn't have money flowing in.

A 'nation' the Quebec Culture is a 'nation' but then so is Chinatown in Vancouver and Richmond BC. When you start using the word nation around it can mean two things. An independent state or a group of people with common cultural links. The BQ has never stated which one they want because well they want an independent nation. If Quebec culture wants to become a 'nation' great all power to you. Maybe then you could help out the first nation people and Metis population because so far they've been screwed over by the government for years decades. Ottawa doesn't care about them at least the conservatives don't.

So you wanted my answer there's my answer. No on separation because its not feasible and I'm fine with the word nation in the cultural sense not the country sense because Quebec is not a country its a province and will be unless a Oui vote wins. Then Quebec can clame 'country' status. But until then its still a province with a culture of people a nation of people.

Oh and is it St. John the Baptiste day? I'd love to be in Quebec during that weekend. I so want to see old town Quebec City and old Montreal. Thats awesome culture there and Quebecios should be proud of there heritage. Old Quebec looks like and old village in Europe. Amazing.

Isn't this a bit too much? I mean Justin's got a bright future ahead of him in whatever he does but come on. This is ridiculous. The American media here didn't go this crazy over JFK Jr. when he was alive even though everyone knew he had political aspirations its was way too obvious. Let the kid grow for once. I know the media wants to see a political dynasty but you can't force politics onto anyone. They have to want it.

This anointing him the next Liberal leader is silly. And I'm a Trudeau guy for goodness sakes.

I just don't get the fascination really. Then the article says he can't come from nowhere because of his name. I'm going to call bull on that one. The current president of the United States is a famous name and he came from nowhere. He wouldn't have won the Republican nomination if he and Rove never started to attack McCain on him being liberalish and not a patriot in South Carolina. If McCain hadn't of been swift boated by Bush McCain probably would be the president now instead of idiot George.

What I'm saying is Bush came out of nowhere. He wasn't even suppose to challenge McCain in the primaries and look what happened. And Bush had a famous last name whose name was tarnished by an old image. But people had forgot HW.

People saying the West would separate if Justin became Liberal leader and PM are being silly. If they really believe that then the people in Alberta really are crazy and nuts. Justin Trudeau is not his father and his father ran the country what until '84? That would make it 22 years ago. Good god, if your still pissed about a dead man you've got issues.

But Justin's probably used to it anyway. Pierre was a polarizing figure you either loved him or absolutely hated him. I mean I was reading the article and it sounded like Duceppe thought he was talking to Pierre. Justin is not Pierre he's Justin. Give it a rest people. Let the guy live.

Chantal Hebert on Duceppe's humiliation regarding the Quebec nation question.

For those of you interested in politics and if you really want to gauge the scene in Quebec, Chantal is excellent.

People called the peace sign in the form of a christmas reef "satan" LOL

funny that these people are calling these people 'satatn' since they're most likely right wing christians celebrating the king of peace himself this time of year Jesus.

Just think how much more good we could accomplish if people weren't wasting their time on this type of crap? Do gated communities really need someone so badly in need of a power trip that they have a president and committies who tell people what flowers to plant and what kind of decorations they can put up? And I won't even get into all of the frivolous laswuits. Two guys suing Michael Richards for 17 million because he called them ######s? Ridiculous. He apologized, probably gave them free Seinfeld DVDs, and they were fine. Then some hotshot lawyer shows up and convinces them to sue so she can make some money of their situation. And then there are the medical lawsuits that drive up the price of healthcare and make people scared to get into the medical profession.

Just because it's a peace wreath, it gets stupid notice in the press (BTW, people thought of it more as an anti-war statement, not Satan). Regardless, homeowner associations and their ridiculous rules and outrageous fees are nothing new. Had this been an ornate flower arrangement that the HOA wanted removed, it wouldn't have made the press. But it's holiday time, let's get everyone riled up because an HOA is denying someone the right to celebrate the season. Blah. Freakin media sensationalism annoys the crap out of me.

Guess what? These homeowners signed the rules and regulations when they bought/rented their property. Shoulda read the fine print.
