Heck they're actually talking about hockey on tv/newspaper/radio now because of this campaign. Where? Only place I heard about it was here. And any attention it does bring is that the NHL is a joke. You do realize that the majority of NHL fans aren't exactly jumping over themselves trying to find ways to get him in? It's just a smaller minority who are voting over and over and over again. For starters, the NHL had no role in Rory not making it. He didn't get enough votes, it's as simple as that. Him not making the team is exactly what should of happened. It may have been fun while it lasted (if that's what some consider fun, sitting in front of a computer pressing the enter button over and over), but it went way too far anyway. It's one thing for fans to stuff the ballot boxes if they get to vote at every game they go to, like baseball voting used to be. It's a completely other thing to allow unlimited online voting, so nerds can sit at home voting for a guy all day long and setting up bots to vote for them. This is inevitable if you choose players by voting - especially when the ballots unfairly require some players to be write-ins. You can't even vote for 3 write-ins. Don't let yourself think that not even 1 person set up a bot or even 1 other player. There's no way, Rory was the only. Of course, he must have gotten the most, but still. When you've got starting rosters loaded with a bunch of players from the same team, some type of cheating was most likely involved. Not that I think making bots vote for you is cheating. It's the same thing as someone sitting in front of their computer manually voting over and over again, isn't it? Anyways, if he did get enough votes then the NHL should not have dumped them.
