The guys on Sportsnet were talking about Rory Fitzpatricks quest for All Star game and Bill Watters had quite the story to tell. When Bill was with the Leafs they had a deal made with Montreal to trade Todd Gill to the Habs for a 1st round pick and Craig Rivet. Fortynately for us Habs fans, the deal was rejected by Cliff Fletcher because he wanted Rory Fitzpatrick instead of Rivet. Any guesses on who the Habs GM was at the time? Whew! MAK Posted December 10, 2006 Share Posted December 10, 2006 I watched the molson center' first game a few months ago. during the game, they were talking about a trade rumour involving montreal and buffalo....I think it was don sweeney for a player and a D prospect. (rivet, wilkie or fitzpatrick) I remember hearing pedeneault saying he wished it was rivet because he far the last in their development...talk about a change of situation !!! That's funny. Nuff said. Glad this trade failed for sure. What's with having a D named Gill all about with those losers anyway?
