Per the NHL Transfer Agreement, if the Canadiens sign Kapanen this summer, he can attend training camp in the fall.

But, should he fail to make the team, he must be offered back to Timra before sending him to the AHL.

However, this limitation only exists in Year 1 of the ELC.
