  1. http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=431532 Have you ever gotten free ticket's from a stranger?
  2. People, people, people, one game. IT'S ONE FREAKING GAME! This stupid Penguins coincidence has people comparing Price to Roy and Dryden. I love what Price's composure and there is no doubt in his potential. However, aren't we overkilling it here? I mean what if he becomes about as good as Huet? Wouldn't we consider him a total bust because he is no Brodeur. It's good to be excited cause that's what us habs fan do best, but let's be cautiously optimistic....
  3. It looks like Carbo focused so much on the 5 on 5 game, they barely even practiced special teams.
  4. When our blue line starts scoring, it really opens it up for our forwards.
  5. Do you guys realize that if Huet lets in a couple of softies, this could be Price's coming out party!
  6. Wow, Markov will never be the captain of any NHL team. Did you all read his interview on Canadiens.com? That had to be the worst interview ever. The guy doesn't say nothing.
  7. Hold on a second. All you people talking about Marleau, what the hell man! Why would San Jose give up Marleau? Every team needs two offensively skilled centers to balance their offense. This whole Grabovski and Ryder thing can't work. Ryder would be outstanding with Thornton but I don't care how good that line is, no team can go far with only one good line. Basically, what I'm saying is, we need what they have, a skilled center. They do not need what we have, which is rookies and Ryder. Just for the heck of it, let's pretend for just a moment that San Jose's management isn't stupid....
  8. Only too true unfortunately. I hope he's not done, but I wasn't particularly enthused with what he said in his press conference. He said he's only interested in tinkering with the current roster. :puke: Who knows...but if we start the season with our current roster, you're right it's just more of the same. It's a harsh reality. Until the season starts, though, I'm gonna keep hoping that somebody from within our team breaks out this year. I'm looking at Higgins, Kostystin. or Lats to have a breakout season. And let's not forget, Price has the potential to crack the lineup this year and become a Luongo.
  9. Just right now he can not skate. It is still early July I hope he foes get on the ice soon though. Apparently, his right arm is currently in a sling. Yeah we all know Chris Higgins to be one of the guys who works the hardest in the off-season. Because of this injury, he may not jump off to the quick start he did last season. I hope Higgins isn't one those guys who never plays a full season. If he is, we should trade him. Apparently, we could get a lot out of him. Teams recognize his talent.
  10. I would rather win the cup than the division! haha I think I'm the only one who got that. LOL no I got it too, but only after I tried really hard to get it. (Thornton is not clutch in the playoffs)
  11. Thanks for spoling a forum BTH Now what are we going to talk about? You ruined my offseason!!!
  12. The Enigma line, the OOPs line, the WOM line, whatever you want to call it, I want to see that line. Carbo should organize a scrimmage with that line and see how they do. If they look like they will click, sign Yashin.
  13. Because it will be about motivation. Yashin wants to prove he can still contribute to a team in the NHL. Also, national pride can go a long way. The reason why he'll work hard enough is because he will have no one to blame on his line except his fellow linemates so they will have to work it out amongst themselves. I say it's worth the experiment.
  14. Oh and to top it all off, we can have Komisarek and their fellow country man Markov on the ice often with this ENIGMA line. What more could they ask for?
  15. GUYS, does anyone see what I'm seeing? RW KOVALEV C YASHIN LW SAMSONOV We can call it the ENIGMA line, because of how many problems this line has. With all that talk to the media about how Kovalev and Samsonov are unhappy, they can get one last chance to prove that Carbo is wrong. The three have no choice but to play with Russian pride and a chip on their shoulders. Carbo should take a sink or swim approach with them. If they do well great. If they don't, we buyout all of their contracts and prove to the league how useless they are. Just think about what they can do as a line when they have no one to blame but themselves for everything that happens on the ice. Lets give them what they want, and we might have one of the best lines in the NHL. No risk, no reward.
  16. We win in regulation or overtime: we are in. Toronto wins in regulation: we are out. We win in overtime: Toronto is out. Islanders are still in. Bottom line is that we need the two points or Islanders can pass us with two victories. What would be the worst scenario ever is if we lost in overtime/shootout. That means we eliminate them by bringing it to overtime. Then they, along with two Islander wins, eliminate us. OH the horror!
  17. This is what we have to resort to cheer us up when the Habs are doing this horrible. The funny thing is, it's working.
  18. It seems like everyone needs a a top 2 line center these days. Our Habs would be better than Buffalo if we had a good second line center.
  19. You guys got it all wrong! Never can he be Jagr. Jagr is a one of a kind. Few can reach the superstar status this guy has. The best guy to compare him to is Eric Cole. Considering the way Eric Cole tears us up every time he plays us that's a really good thing. Finally we have an answer to him.
  20. You are right. I can't remember a season where the Habs have been this fortunate in not having too many people injured. At one point this season we had Bouillon and Dandenault out which made Gainey look like a genius for aquiring Ninimaa, but so far the aquisition of Samsonov has looked a little less than genius because all the forwards are healthy.
  21. THIS IS SOLELY THE NHL'S FAULT! The problem is that every since i can remember no one who played in the all star game played to win. They were all smiles a lot of the time. If they were just competitive and tried to outplay their oponent like it meant something, then i would vote for the best players. The problem is that no matter who you get in there they all do the same stupid things. They dont play defense and they dont try hard. So weather you put Lidstrom in there or Fitzpatrick, it wont make a difference in the actual game and the entertainment value. So what I have to say to Gretzky, Cherry or anyone who believes in intervention is it's too late, you should have thought about that before you guys treated the all-star game like it was a game for grannys who were afraid to get injured.
  22. Johnson is a great addition and Perezhogin is so good that he would probably be a second line winger on other teams. What I am saying is on the wings we have depth. And because of Abeischer we have depth at goaltending. So weather I name them depth players or superstars is besides the point. What I am saying is these are the kinds of players that other teams would consider making a move for. You got to give a little to get little right? I would hate to see Perezhogin leave, but we need a second line center, there is no question about it. Gainey is not a stupid man I agree. He's mostly responsible for making the team as deep as it is right now. What you need to know is that he will jump at his first opportunity he gets to get a good center, even if it means giving guys up like the ones I mentioned. The only reason he hasn't done so already is because the right opportunity has not presented itself. He's smart but he's also patient.
