  1. Wow.. i thought it was vince lol. I was wondering, what they would do with perreault ribeiro and juneau.. or maybe vince would have play at LW. Finnally it's "only" J-F. Yes, I believe as well it can be a steal. At worst it'll make a good AHL goalie. Some have thought he would replace Brodeur one day with the devils. Well.. time will say

As for Dagenais, he should have been here long before. Well, now it means Ribeiro is in Gainey's plan. The sad news it's that means IMO that Ribeiro will play on the fourth line with Dwyer and Dagenais. At least, that means "bye bye Dackell". So it looks like Juneau and Perreault will remain here as well.

  2. So what does everyone play when they are bored online?

well, my little sister got SIM for his birthday gift. Believe it or not I played a whole week at it. It's like living a complete life on a computer simulation program. very realistic and addictive. Hopefully I could stop and live a more "real" life hehe

beside that, i like a lot to play at Counter-Strike online. my nickname is "MARA" (not Paul lol, in greek or hebrew it means suffering or something like that hehe)

  3. 2 down, 7 to go

Brisebois, Perreault, Audette, Dackell, Dykhuis, Traverse, Blouin...

aussie.. what do you have againts french canadians? 6/7 players you want to dump are quebecers :nono:

    lol

seriously.. we cannot dump those players. they are a good part of the team. Brisebois is an important part of our defense, even if he makes errors. He is an important part of the powerplay. Still, Markov improved and he's now the #1, but if we trade Briser, who would be the #2 offensive dman? Rivet?

Audette is still one of our only few "skilled" players. One of the 3 habs players to have ever scored 30 goals (juneau, zednik) in the NHL. Perreault is the best faceoff center in the league.. his only problem is his lack of constency. If he accepts to play on the 3rd line the role juneau played, it would be great. Then we could get rid of Juneau who don't have offensive powers in him anymore. Still Yanic would have to improve his defensive game.. but that's not a big problem.. play good defensively is very easy to learn (well, not for everyone lol, talk to briser).

As for Dykhuis, Traverse, they are really good skaters, very talled.. that's all. I could agree to dump them for nothing.

Well, as for Briser, Perreault and Audette i don't think Gainey will buy out those 3 players contract.. that makes no sense.

    :que:

  4. I think I can safely say that I am the first poster to predict Aebischer putting up similar stats to marty Turco.

Oh well, we'll wait for the summer to finish first though.

No way. You don't know Lacroix well it seems. He's not like Sather or Clarke. He has a real game plan and will never, never gamble on an un-experienced goalie or a shaky goalie. Especially not if he has money/ a high payroll. He gave less than 8 M$ for both Selanne and Kariya.. traded away 1M$ reinpercht. He still has money and I'm smelling a bad joke againts Detroit. Cujo will go to Colorado somehow, not by a direct DET-COL trade thought. I have the feeling Lacroix will screw Illitch and Holland.

July 3 (sakiqc) Almost all players drafted in 2003 were among the 22 players present at the training camp in the Martin Lapointe arena in Rosemere. Andrei Kastsitsyn wasn't at the training camp. The 2003 first round pick had a problem with his visa and could not be at the camp at this time. The Montreal junior Rocket team is well represented with 4 players at the Habs training camp. It is 3rd straight Rookie Camp for goalie Michaud, who was brillant when he played a period in the NHL two years ago.

Players were practicing today with skills competition, 1 vs 1, skating and working with their feet. Habs GM, Gainey was not there. Andre Savard was attending the practice, following the players he drafted.

Charron was working with the young players, even if he has not been confirmed by Gainey in his position yet.

Urquhart is playing for the white team (like if anyone cares lol)

More of Urquhart.. dunno, maybe there is a big fan of him here

that would be a dream world

i doubt that it will be accepted

every professional sporstman should be paid according to their performance. it's logical

like tennis, golf. well, it's more complicated to do with a team sport.. because if we create personal bonus, the game will dramatically change to the worse.

like you said, a bonus system according to team performance sounds be the good direction

  7. Now what if Kariya gets hurt? Career ending stuff. Could cost him millions.

Another precedent- he's saying I have enough and don't need much more. Once again bad news for the PA.

    yes, you're right.. pretty unusual

it's very risky like you said.. but maybe the Stanley Cup is that important! everyone knows Anaheim has no chance to go in the Finals again.. not before 10 years or more. It's like Florida, Carolina... they got their chance.. that's pretty impossible to repeat a miracle two consecutive times. so nice move by kariya

He must be at a point where he has enough money for a lifetime or two.

    hehe lol

i won't be sad for him only making 1.2 millions this year

  8. not bad at all. If they are able to keep Satan, they'll have a pretty decent roster :

    satan briere dumont

    drury connolly kotalik

    hecht brown afinogenov

    pyatt

    kalinin mckee

    zhitnik tallinder

    patrick

    biron

    noronen

    miller

and they still can deal one of their 3 goalie for a pretty decent player

  9. IMO he screw more Sather than the NHLPA. Players accept low salary to play with Colorado, and other ask the moon to play in NY hehe.

Kariya will be a UFA next summer... but i think he shoot a ball in his own feet. He should have sign a long term deal now.. instead of waiting next year where the new CBA could affect considerably the amount he would have had the chance to get. He could have sign 5 years for 50 millions this year. Next year i don't think he'll be able to get 10M/year.

I don't think it screw Fedorov.. since everyone know kariya accepted less than the average salary to be eligible for UFA next summer and won the cup next year.

Maybe it will give the idea to Fedorov to sign cheap with Colorado ? lol ;)

Colorado needs a defensive center for their 3rd line! Selke's Fedorov is the perfect fit :)

  10. wow.. lacroix on fire today!

If it's Biron, that's huge. Only give rhino (who anyway couldn't play on 3rd line) for Biron, a goalie who can raelly replace Roy and play with Avs for years to come.. that's a huge deal for Avs and doesn't cost a lot. Biron is a solid goalie and will fit well in Colorado

  11. Wow.. Lacroix is unbelivable again !! That's funny and amazing in the same time. Selanne and Kariya were in need of a center with Anaheim.. now they have the 2 best in the world :)

And finally some good wingers for Sakic .. i'm not saying reinprecht is not good..but come on hehe

well, i got Selanne to Colorado right in my prediction UFA Pool.http://www.habsworld.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=270

I thought Lacroix would add another winger, like Robitaille, but Kariya! Wow.. still don't believe it

  12. I agree with you GH2. and If it's not working with Gainey, how would it work? I don't say it was a disastear with Savard. Overall I'm really satisfied with his job. Like he said at the press conference, he felt the team was ready for a next step, and it was better to step down for the team. I appreciate a lot that kind of attitude and it shows a lot about his person. Some will say that he did it to keep a job, since he knew he would be fired someday. I don't agree with that.. well, basically all GMs and coaches are fired a day or another. I didn't see many GM step down as an assistant GM. If he did it to save his job, well it was wise. Anyways it's a nice move, because it makes the transition a lot easier for the team.

I don't expect big trades/signings from Gainey. The team has not more money because it's Gainey. What I expect from him will be wise decision. He won't be shy to send down, drop people, or to keep some young players up. His attitude will reflect on the coaching staff, and the coaching staff will have an higher or "nervosity" to perform. I don't know if Julien is good under pressure. I hope yes, and I hope he performs well. Because it won't take time before Gainey hires an experienced coach. Julien is great, still a rookie coach. Maybe he should have started as an assistant for at least a year.. dunno, but surely Gainey does.

It's that kind of confidence we can have in Gainey.. he knows what he does and we smells a "respect feeling" around him. Savard is an outstanding hockey head, maybe not the prestance and the positive authority to lead a big organisation like the Habs.

  13. That's from a U2U you sent me on June 24-so your line of Hainsey-Quintal should read Brisebois-Quintal, just thought you should know.

oh yeah, i guess i copy pasted my line from the original email.. so, are you going to edit my lines ?

    nah.. i prefer the duo komi-chara :)

those are crunch dman with both a (really) good offensive potential

  14. dlbalr, good job

maybe you didn't saw, but at the end of my entry, i put the lines I want. Because, if you put the lines like you did, my trades makes no sense :)

ok here were the lines i gave:

Zednik - Koivu - Selanne // everyone knows about the finish duo, zednik can be the good talented checker

Havlat - Perreault - Audette // some threat to the opposing goalie, talented winger for yanic

Isbister - Bulis - Ward // Working hard line, potential offensively, good defensively

    Kilger - Juneau - Sundstrom

    Neil

Chara - Komisarek // the New World Trade Center Towers

Hainsey - Quintal // physical presence

Souray - Rivet // physical prensence

    Bouillon

    Theodore

    Garon

  15. The HabsWorld website project had been thinked about for many weeks/months. We defined the content we need at http://content.habsworld.net/

We have a bunch of people who have said who want to help and contribute to this great project. It's now the time to help us!

There is a list (http://content.habsworld.net/what.html) of content we need NOW. Here's what you have to do:

Take a item that no one has taken so far (basically all are currently available). Search about it at the suggested links and with google. Copy the content from the websites to a .txt file (using notepad.. no formatting). Indicated the sources with the content you paste. After, send the files to puck7x@habsworld.net or sakiqc@habsworld.net. If possible, give content from as many sources (more than one) as possible. Because we cannot use directly copyright content but we will take content from various site, like a research with bibliography (which is legal).

    Mainly, we need

    - history texts of all kinds (about retired players, Forum, glorious years)

    - players profiles, bio

see this link for more content : http://content.habsworld.net/what.html

Any question? reply this message, use the U2U system or email puck7x, huzer, habs77, unhab or sakiqc
