  2. Two 3-0 game #7 Finals in the same week ?

well.. it's quite sad. It was too close! A game shy of the AHL title.

Great year anyways by Hamilton. The Habs organisation is going in the good direction and our future looks good. Now (next year) we'll able to develop more players since we won't have to play the Edmonton prospects..

    Good season Bdogs!

    1st period over... 1-0 Aeros.

Dogs look really nervous and shakey... They arent playing the way they are capable of playing. Conklin is extremely shakey he is giving up all sorts of rebounds ...

Dogs were also badly outshot in the 1st period (20 to ???)

They need to get their act together... NOW! GO DOGS!

Conklin for the final game ?? argh :((

anyways, only 1 goal after an horrible first period.. could have been worst.. go BDogs for the 2nd period!

  5. Don't see how COL being a favorite makes the COL-MIN series any less exciting... you got me there.

Colorado was leading 3-1.. the serie was over, no suspense, no excitation. they lose a 2nd.. bleah, they'll win the other... they lose a 3rd one.. bleah they cannot lose 3 in a row... going to OT.... Avs have so much talented guys, clutch performes, everyone knows Forsberg or Sakic will slap one in... then a Brunette unbelievable goal.

Sure it was a great comeback and a beautiful OTG.. but not exciting at all.

When both team have chance to win, when the game is well played by both team who compete really hard, then it's exciting (for me anyways).

I have to say that i didn't watch all other matchups, but i can say i like the way the sens played and how they showed caracter and determination. They played solid game, a lot more physical then the past years. THe games i watched were pretty exciting.

  6. I would say the Eastern Conference Finals.. Game #7.. GW with less than 5 min to play in the third period by friesen.. that was pretty unbelievable.

the Min-Col was not as exciting, even if it was game #7 OT, cause we were expecting Avs to win easily.. The NJ-OTT was a hot and great duel. Team #1 vs Team #2, great matchup. Also the matchup:

    Burns-Martin

    Brodeur-Lalime

  7. Giguere has been the best so far, but he needs to show up in game 7 because if he blows it bad when it counts the most, how can you be the MVP?

"the best so far" = MVP

if he allows 5 goals tonight, will he still have been the best player of the playoffs?

    i think yes

  8. MVP is the player who is the Most valuable in the playoffs.

Giguere was unbelievable 3/4 of the playoffs... is there any other player who was MORE valuable than him?

The MVP is not allowed to the 1st star of the last game.

It would be tough to find a player more valuable than JS.

Any ideas of who else can hae a shot ?

    Go :monkey: !

  9. .. would be (if we look at statistics) if the game #7 goes in Overtime.

New Jersey are invincible at the Continental Airlines while the Ducks are invincible in Overtime.

If the Game#7 goes in OT, then the 2 factors would be neutralized and each team would have a chance to win hehe

WOW!! Imagine a Game #7 in OVERTIME!! WOOO.. that would be so fantastic, so much stress, so intense!

  10. It is sure goalies weren't a major factor in the Stanley Cup Finals. Brodeur and Giguere were shaky. But, we cannot forget that Giguere won the 3 series before almost all by himself (Dallas, Detroit and Minnesota!)

So if the Conn Smythe is allowed to the best player of the playoff, then probably Giguere will have it, since he was THE star of 3/4 of the playoffs.

The only thing I can see, it's if Kariya scores the Overtime Winning goal. He played good all playoffs (not Mario Lemieux-like but good) then he scored an important goal after the Stevens'hit.

Anyway, that's not likely to happen. I don't see how Giguere can lost the trophy.

    :monkey:

  11. WOW !! unbelievable come back by kariya.. ducks win again at home! Ducks with the momentum going in a #7 Finals Game! WOW

Well, it's tough to predict what will happen, cause all is possible! Was funny, tought, to see Brodeur benched on a game where the Stanley Cup is in the building hehe

    go ducks!

  12. Me too I'm confident with Craig Rivet. I think we expected to much from him. We have to recognize he is an important part of our defense now and he takes a leadership role. I hope too that his experience with team Canada will boost him to an higher level.

  13. humm.. interesting habby

as i see it now, it looks like the Wild have great cards in their hands. Playing both roloson and manny, they have now 2 solid goalies with good value, even more after their run on playoffs. Also, with the money the team earn with their playoff runs (dunno, if they made a lot of profits tought) they should be able to increase their payrol a bit and trade one of their 2 goalie for a skilled winger making more than 1 million.

Minnesota situation looks pretty good. Great system, developping young players and their AHL team is doing pretty well, Aeros are playing the BDOGS on AHL finals right now.

To me, it looks like Minnesota have the most cards in their hands right now.

There's also STL, because of their goalie's injuries, have few extras

  14. my point is, we all know how goalie is an important factor. If you are one of NewYork GMS and you have to show immediate results to your owner who give you a lot of money. if i had a 90 millions payroll, i would be sure to have a "6 millions goalie". that's just not wise to load your team with big names and not have any solid goalie.

anyways, it's not like if i care for the ny teams lol

dunham was solid for rangers when he was traded, it's true.

  15. Dipietro will shares the goaltending duties with Snow... whoever plays most will depend on performance.

With goalie being at a premium right now I think there's more of an incentive to give the kid a chance to take over, or at least split the goalie duties.

1st, Snow will probably becomes an UFA on July 1st. Anyways, Snow isn't a starter. He played 45 games once in his 10 years career.

As for Dipietro, i have difficulty to see ISlanders give the net to a rookie. They are more likely to get a veteran on the way down (like Osgood, Vanbiesbrouck)

    What are you talking about?

NYR have Dunham and Blackburn... what the hell would they want with Cechmanek?

humm.. exactly. I'm talking about the biggest payroll in the league with one of the worst tandem of goalies.

People forget it often, but Cechmanek is one of the best goalie in regular season since 2000. He has a career AVR below 2.00 GAA, with a save percentage higher than .920.

And all that playing with not the best Dman squad in the league.

    NYR have to make playoffs.

And Roman would have surely help them A LOT

Cechmanek has a rep of being a nutcase, and worse yet he's proven he can't win in the playoffs with his eratic play... his value is nil, I'd have jumped at a 2nd rounder too.

I agree on the fact he has no style and that he doesn't care about playoffs. But trading him for a 2nd rounder.. i don't get it.

    [Edité le 2003-6-6 par sakiqc]

  16. i don't think NYI will rely on a prospect (Dipietro) to start all their games. same thing for NYR, don't see them starting Blackburn. They have a big payroll, it's not logical to put a no experience goalie to lead a high payroll team.

I don't understand why MM drafted goalies with his high selections (luongo.. dipietro).. if he's not going to start them anyway.

The value of goalie should go very high. But then again, i don't understand Clarke's move:?-

THere's talking today of Clarke trying to trade LeClair to NYR. NYR would not have like to grab Cechmanek in the same time?? Clarke would not have got better in return for Cechmanek?

Maybe he only want him to be in the Western Conference.. since he rules in the regular season and would have help a lot NYR.

Maybe there's a non trade clause in the Cechmanek trade to LA. humm

Would NJ take a gamble (believing in their dominance at home) and let ANA win it in ANA, so NJ can win in front of their home crowd?

hehehe.. i don't think so, but in their subconscious, they probably want to win at home. That's Burns' job to change that mind and continue to be hard on his players..

Gmae 7 would be televised world wide (Santa Barbera of all places), and would bring lotsa profits.

I think it'll be NJ in 7, with every team winning every home game.  4:3

But Maggie the Monkey Might just pull through.

    :monkey: I BELIEVE!!! :monkey:

never underestimate the power of Maggie the monkey hehe:lol:
