  1. It seems to fall in place with his approach with numerous Houle draft picks as well. Andre, one would surmise, is attempting to rid the organization of "all things Houle and Corey".

    Greeeaaaat !!

From what I can gather; Savard is also the head scout - perhaps the only team in the league with such a setup. Kind of bizzare. I realize he has a good reputation with his draft abilities, but it's rare to see someone attempt to run the scouting and be GM at the same time in today's NHL. Even Sammy Pollock relied on his scouts for the majority of his picks.

(Late note: The Hockey News apparently lists Timmins as the head scout. I find that hard to believe, but apparently hia lack of scouting experience has "earned" him the position).

Yes.. i think the problem is exactly there. He can't do both, head scout and General Manager. Everyone knows how talented he is to find prospects (havlat, hossa and co.)

As for Mondou and Dorion out.. i have not much problem with that..

  3. When they created the logo, the H standed for Hockey, like it is said in history files (yeah, and on canadiens.com)

also, it's logical since "habitants" are a nickname given by anglos to the french people of quebec. I Don'T think players of the Canadiens team were called "habitants" before playing with the CH uniform. (still possible, but i don't think so.)

    :hlogo:

    from History files (canadiens.com)

    November 26, 1917

Founding of the National Hockey League (NHL) at the Windsor Hotel in Montreal. Ottawa, Canadiens, Wanderers and Toronto receive a franchise in the new league, succeeding the NHA. At this time, the Club Athlétique Canadien changes its name to officially become Club de Hockey Canadien and begins displaying the celebrated CH logo.

  4. And Lubomir Visnovsky, as much as you might like him, is just an offensive Bouillion with no physical side. I'd prefer Vishnevsky from Anaheim (even the commentators get them confused... Visnov, Vishnev, Sno, Shne, etc.)

yeah lol, i think i confused Vitaly Vishnevski with Lubomir Visnovsky... i was thinking about the dman with a solid-hitter reputation. Think it's vitaly, no ?

  5. How about Garon for one of the :king:'s 1st round picks? (They have 3 of them) ...

i know Garon is not a rookie, but i don't like trading a prospect for a draft pick.. maybe it reminds me the Mike Milbury trade (Luongo for Dipietro)...

would prefer someone who can help our team now

  6. 1 vs 1? for Garon ? humm.. i would say Lubomir Visnovsky

oh, that would be coooool! a komo-lubo duo !!!

since we have theo for years, we lose nothing, and we still have others capable goalies coming.

garon might be an interesting part of a package for a 1st line player

  7. I don't think Claude Julien is the kind of guy who'll protest if Savard (or another GM) ask him to be the assistant coach. IMO, he has the profile of a really good assistant coach.

Imagine if Martin was the coach with Julien and Carboneau as assistants.

Also, Savard is a passionate of hockey and developping. He has the eye for prospect. I'm sure he has a tough time dealing with administrative jobs and trade talks. I'm pretty sure he hates that.

Gainey is a gambler.. don't know if we can afford him, or give him enough money. Sure he still has some good reputation, but still.. dunno.

What about Sather ? He is a tremendous GM with a restricted budget. Dunno if he'll stay in NYR for long. Didn't Sather began his career in Montreal after all?

  8. :hlogo: 's pre season begins in 4 months, september 18 vs Boston

    Canadiens' 2003-2004 Preseason Schedule

Thursday, Sept. 18 Boston Bell Centre 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 20 Ottawa Bell Centre 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 23 Toronto Bell Centre 7:30 p.m.

    Friday, Sept. 26 @ Boston Manchester, NH 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 27 Buffalo Bell Centre 7:00 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 29 @ Toronto Air Canada Centre 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 30 @ Minnesota Xcel Energy Center 7:00 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 3 Minnesota Bell Centre 7:30 p.m.

    Saturday, Oct. 4 @ Ottawa Corel Centre 7:00 p.m.

    :ghg:

  9. interesting idea.

But Turgeon with Montreal.. not sure if he would be happy to come back with us. If yes, wonder if he would accept to play LW (like he does in Dallas). Turgeon had a bad season... but 42 pts in 65 games, not that bad in comparative with our forwards.

    3 offensive lines:

    Bulis - Perreault - Hossa

Turgeon - Ribeiro - Audette (too small line)

    (Czerkawski) - Koivu - Zednik

    defensive line:

    Dackell - Kilger - Sundstrom

  10. Since I live in Ottawa I have become a temporary Sens fan, but I don't get close to the excitement that the Habs gave me last year.

If only I had money I would die to see a game #7 and the fans there at the Corel are great. I was there for game 5 of the Islanders series though but the emotions were not the same like this series.

yeah, i think there's a lot of "temporary Sens fans" here (or maybe anti-devils lol). I'm expecting a great game tonight.

It's time for alfie and/or white to step up tonight. It was about time J.Martin dresses Spezza

  11. if our 3rd line is offensive, what's the problem ?

i saw LeClair and Kapanen play on third line on the playoff

a juneau 3rd line is very bad .. juneau lost his touch offensively. I'm sorry, but he generates nothing!

And with Julien's tactic (playing koivu's line againts top line), we don't need a Juneau-I-Play-vs-the-top-opposite-line-so-shut-up-if-you-say-I-sucks-in-the-offensive-zone line

I see 3 offensive lines. If Czerkawski and Audette want to play hockey this year, that would be great.

  12. Is it just a jpeg pasted to the avatar section in your profile or a what?

you have to put a link to an image

    exemple: http://www.abc/image.jpg

also, if you want to keep an avatar for a long period of time we can upload your picture on our servers

  13. "You are not logged in"

i had the "You are not logged in" problem as well when testing the board May 9. It has something to do with cookies.. it's not a necessarilly option for the forum so I now turned it off in the configuration files on the servers.

  14. Yeah... Bubba... NOT the Bubba from Forrest Gump, but 350 lbs -never-showers-tattooed-all-over-hairy-back-lowbrow-Mike-Tyson-temper-in-need-of-some-manly-love Bubba.

    loll

I was thinking of that berenzweigh thing .. the first trade of the year in sksb

editing is so cool.. i always make stupid mistake (at least now i can correct some of them i notice :) )
