The argument has gone and too long.

At this point let's see what Chucky does in the playoffs. We all know he's a great player. Lets hope his overall play from the start of the year, is what he brings in the playoffs.

Agreed ...its pointless to argue.  when someone needs to reference words like "dumb", "making things up' . "reaching"...not to mention the not-so-subtle references to my limited brain capacity - it's starting to get old...lol.

But like you i really want Galchenyuk to do well...when he scored last night, we (me and the 3 buddies i was watching the game with) all spontaneously applauded #27. Genuinely happy he was the one who scored.---> and we all are hoping he comes out flying in the playoffs.

  2. it's been a bit of an up and down season.

IMO There were/are three "good" things 1. getting rid of MT and replacing him with CJ ..2) Radulov  3) Arturi ...with honourable mention to Danault- who has earned every penny he makes

    The bad:  not landing a #1 C...

And those were strictly exhibition games, so wouldn't read much into them.

okay..but Don pls think about it...these exhibition games is when CJ should have him on the top line Or if not the top line, at least give him ice time.  Something is fishy in Denmark and it's not an injury,  I like this kid but...sheesh let's take off our rose-coloured glasses for a minute.  CJ seems to be a positive coach when it comes players; but even CJ can't seem to get through to this kid.  i am a DIEHARD habs fan...i want this kid to do well. i believe we all do...but let's call a spade a spade and enough with the "numbers".  He looks awful when he's out there.

14 minutes is not fourth line time.

I guess we are just making stuff up now.

it i when the 4th line guys are playing 13 minutes...nobody is making stuff up...i don't know if you noticed but against Tampa he played 12 mins...i don't know what game your are watching...it's just not the same game as i am...enough of this b/s already...

Agreed. Habs win that series and it's no big deal, "hey, just happy Matthews et all could get some playoff experience. They'll kick ass next year!"

But if the Habs lose that series? Good god, we won't hear the end of it. Leafs have everything to gain and nothing to lose, and that's terrifying. I'd rather they face off when both teams have something at stake.

Anyways, I'll jump off that bridge when we come to it. Til then, bring on the Rags!

not to mention all the hype...the Ron McMapletons talking about the historic rivalry which doesn't even exist...and Don Cherry will prolly explode if Emelin even touches a Leaf...no thanks...

Lol, ok I can understand the hate for the Leafs. I just see it as one less difficult team in Tampa to potentially have to go through. Would rather play the leafs if it came down to it but odds are neither one would make it past the 'juggernauts in the Metro division' as you put it.

i want no part of the leafs...

    He was invisible.

What about the scoring chance on the 2 on 1 where he was robbed by Mrazek and then bowled him over.

What about the play he set up on the powerplay.

What about his other scoring chance in the second period.

He actually had a pretty strong game, with weak linemates tonight.

14 points in his last 20 games...

i don't know what game you were watching bro....ya he had one or two good moments...but come on...

Whatever dude, you obviously have more free time on your hands than I do to keep posting on this so I'm not going to take the bait again other than to say this.  I actually like chucky.  What I'm fed up with is his inability to be the number one centre this team needs.  I'm fed up with the expectations that he will ever be such a player.  He's one dimensional and has a zero defensive hockey IQ.  I'm fed up with his fragile mental state and immaturity that leaves him playing like sh!t when he loses confidence because they keep moving him when he fails as a centre and then bring him back like he has magically become a different player.  So I'm fed up with the coaching staff that doesn't recognize this up to this point.  Maybe Julien will come to this realization once and for all because I don't want to see him keep bouncing around between positions looking like a lost puppy night after night.  Right now he's a second line winger on this team.  Let him stay on the wing and use that one timer.   I don't expect anymore from him and wish everyone, including himself, can live with that.

well said...he was terrible again tonight...the fourth line players are getting just as much, if not more, ice-time than he's getting.  I hope Arturi gets promoted to top-six on a permanent basis. That kid tries on every shift and is very responsible without the puck    Watching #27 fumbling around out there is starting to get boring...

    Chucky with Ott and Martinsen.

    Thats interesting...

by "interesting" i take it you mean - that's awful !!  he should be in the top six tonight...i have a feeling Chucky isn't listening to CJ and, as a result, he's in the doghouse...

He's not hurt...if he was, he wouldn't be playing.

Does anyone remember his second year in the league, when Galchenyuk game into the season hitting everything in sight and working hard for every puck. Where did that guy go?

I love Galchenyuk, but he's fackin soft man. Like big time.

YES !!!  i remember when he played like an imposing 6'2" center....then he got beat up by his girlfriend, and has never been the same since lol...

Seriously though,  i truly believe MT screwed this kid up...(makes you wonder what else MT managed to f--k up along the way)

  11. ...but what about Arturi guys?  the 3rd best thing to happen to Habs this year...1) Firing Therrien 2) Radulov  3) Arturi...

Terrible most of season; but, still same pts/gm as Filip Forsberg/Sean Monahan and basically exact same production as Drouin/Kuznetsov/Wennberg. And all these guys haven't had bad seasons.

Seems many still love Cammalleri as a Hab but he couldn't play a lick of defense and is basically in the running for softest NHLer of all time.

i get what you are saying...at the risk of sounding like a broken record - to me Galchenyuk = Kessel,  Its a bit of a jagged pill to swallow, but that's how i think we need to see him going forward.  Not sure there is anything wrong with that.

Seriously?  Do you even understand that I'm not even comparing the two players at all here?

I do get it - it's not that hard to follow...all i am saying is try going a week (or two) without bringing up Subban.

To add to your point; two very good defencemen (Norris contenders) are 1-2 in giveaways. I am not sure what that means - ie.  is the ottawa rink just as hard on its players as ours is?...but based on the three recent games against Ottawa; Karlsson DID in fact, turnover the puck more than a few times. Anyway stats are great and all - but for me it's what i see on the ice...(not sure about Burns as i seldom watch him play)

From strictly a fan standpoint - the difference is that Burns has 28g/74 pts and the Karlson has 17g/71 pts.  So the turnovers are 'accepted' by both coaches and fans.. .Petry (and Emelin) on the other hand...it's tough to watch.  And Price has to pay the price...

This has NOTHING to do with the Weber vs P.K. debate.... NOTHING.

This is entirely about how the Bell Centre turnover stats are unreliable.

I merely used Weber vs PK cause their stats show that... when PK was in montreal he was at the top of the league and Weber wasn't... they were traded and the numbers flipped.  Hence its all about the scorekeeper when it comes to this stat.

ok bro...but try going a week without bringing up Subban..

  14. 2 minutes ago, Commandant said:

How does that make him have way more turnovers at home, but the same amount on the road as the previous year?  Answer: It doesn't.

so you agree with yourself...good on you.   you need to let it go man, Weber is a HAB...PK isn't.  I wish him well but enough already,

  15. 7 minutes ago, Commandant said:

Obviously Petry isn't perfect, no one is saying he is.

But he also not one of the most turnover prone players in the league either, this is all about the way stats are kept.

Your Subban explanation fails to account for why Weber has so many more turnovers this season, why the two have basically flipped positions on those charts.

Maybe cause Weber was paired with Emelin for most of the season...

  16. 4 minutes ago, Stogey24 said:

I can see it happening. I call Petry out for it all the time. So yes, it's real.

Price also plays the puck a ton. Probably the most in the league for a goalie.

Subban isn't carrying the puck as much in Nashville and is playing like 2min less a game. Big reason why his turn over numbers are down.

A buddy of mine in Edmonton warned me about Petry (when we signed him).  he said he played "soft" for a big man, and apparently turnovers are a chronic condition with him.  He was happy to see Petry leave the oil patch.  i thought he was just upset to be losing a top 4 d-man, but it seems he was right.  Whatever he is ...he is now a fixture on our blue line and i don't see him being moved anytime soon.  The turnovers are bad but his reluctance to hit anyone is more of a problem IMO.

  17. Why is Price in nets tonight??? Sabres are going for the net, and, as per usual, no one is sticking up for him... .

I heard he wants to play in Detroit...last game in Joe Louis arena .ok i get why he wants to play in that game; to be a part of history...but tonight??
