  1. I thought we got this tough-guy nonsense out of our systems already?

What nonsense? This is still men's game and we have a midget team.... Who's to protect our players? I dunno, is this francophone thing this, fights doesn't belong to the hockey! What a bulls********t!!!! Fed up with this #####talking! We need muscle, and we need enforcer!!! Period!

  2. It's basically the same offence that the Habs made it to the 3rd round with last year. Defence is a concern beyond this season as has been discussed and the fact of the matter is, the Habs have 2 rookies and 3 that are 35+ on the back end. That alone makes it a concern as due to the inexperience and age, there will always be questions. In all likelihood, Montreal needs to improve both the defence and the offence - will they be able to fix both with what they have left to spend? If no, then you've gotta pick one. If the offensive pieces aren't available (and quite frankly, there aren't many available), then you have to look at the D.

Yes, I can understand that, but I'm just thinking about this season. And I think we need to boost our offence, we need to have some muscle... And everyone who saw last nights game against Bruins must agree with me. In playoffs they will kill us...

  3. Everybodys talking about size, and I agree that we need it more. BUT, if players don't use it, like Puoliot don't, where do we need size. I believe we need more gritty players, more players who play like they are 6'5" and 300 lbs.

I think trading MaxLap away was a huge mistake. But what can you do, you just need to believe JM's vision....

  4. I'm sad to see O'Byrne leave. That's another d-man that we've drafted in the past 10 years who isn'T with us anymore (Hainsey, Komisarek, Fisher, Valetenko, McDonough, Emelin and a few more I seem to have forgotten)

O'Byrne had completely lost al of his confidence because as soon as he made a mistake, he would be benched. I'm not saying that he had the potential to become a top 3 d-man, but I think if we would ahve given him a full season as a number 6 d-man, he could have done a good job. We have a bunch of smurfs up front, now we are getting rid of our bigger guys in back...I don't like it!

Good luck to Ryan in Colorado!

So true!! Habs are turning to a midget team!! We need size, and again we trade size away..... BUUUUUUU!!!! What the hell is going on..... :puke:

  5. I am now, probably for the first time of my life, believing we don't need one. Laps proved it, just get them so pissed they drop the gloves, turn and skate away laughing on the PP! May be a good team ethic? Hmmm. Even with Knuckles back in the lineup, teams would avoid him except for other enforcers, totally wipes out their advantage. So no, at this point we don't need one. What we have have is enough.

Hmm, Laps, as much as I love that pest, that's not the way... Not a good way... Shame on you Laps...

  6. A super goon is not needed, but having another good tough player or two would definently help the team. A couple more players on Moens level would be perfect, the habs just don't have the depth for a goon to sit on the bench.

Agreed!!! I really like Moen, and one or two this kinda players would be nice. Mr. Forum Ghost, who?

I think fighting really belongs to hockey, those who says it is old fashioned and barbaric, and will cause a injuries, don't know a thing, checking causes injuries, high sticking also, so what, it's hockey!!! Injuries are part of the game, so is entertaining, yes? Besides, players get kinda big money for that risk, don't you agree?

  7. Try to look back just once, since 1995 Koivu worked hard every year for this team! And what he gets, stupid ungreatful fans whining about that he is unselfish and was he is THE reason why Habs haven't won cup since -93! Come on!!!!!!!! Biggest reason Habs haven't won anything for years is that nobody, who is a big name, wants to play in Montreal, why? 'Cause fans and press! Look at Vinny, why don't he come to his home town and rescue Habs and make Habs new Dynasty of NHL, he do not want to, easier to play in Tampa....... no stupid fans and press....no fans at all.... :P All I'm asking for you guys have some respect, Saku Koivu REALLY deserves it....

(sry for my english, I speak it better than write it)

  8. Oh man KoZus, so stupid, so stupid. How can you know these things, who is cancer to the Habs or who isn't? Koivu served us well, ok, I think so too that it was his time to go, BUT plz, have some respect to our ex-captain! Man, he is true leader and puts his team ahead of him always. I have met him couple of times and I really respect him as a player and a person too! Come on what the hell is wrong with you Habs fans?

It was Kovy who was "suspended" in middle of a season.....if you can remember.... anyhow, thanks to him as well.

Thanks for the years Saku! Respect!

    Greetings from sunny Finland!

  9. Hey, KoZed or KoZus, tell us, how did you end up with those names.......?? Remember me, from ESPN board? (KoivuZednik or KoivuZubrus... or what?) Pissed off this stupid stupid debate, WE as Habs fans should cheer for them ALL, and give them our support! Stop this stupid player bashing! Anyhow, it's 0410 am here in Finland, and I'm watching game...in french, cannot understand at all, but I'm still watching 'cause I LOVE this team, AND I loved this team before Saku came in to town...... I even have Captain Kirk's shirt wich I had to order from MTL, and cost was then almost my one weeks salary....so AM I FAN OR WHAT? Anyhow, cheers to all! Go Habs Go!!! :hlogo: :hlogo:

ps. Hopefully everybody understands, my english isn't so good....

  10. Hello again guys, about Lahti, he's power forward, uups, I mean he was power forward here in Finland. But I expect a lot from him. He is late bloomer. But as you said, we'll see. But trust me when I say, he will make an impact next year.......

  11. Ahhh, so that's why he left the team. I was trying to figure that out, but not being able to read Finnish made it a tad difficult. :P

By the way, you're Finnish, eh?

Yes, I'm from Finland, born and raised. :D Hmm, don't get me wrong, Tony is good hockey player, and I saw him played many times when he played with HIFK. (team I hate, I'm Tappara fan) Anyway, I think he has an attitude problem, but who am I to say, I don't know him personally.

  12. Hey faerie.. can you translate the following for me?

    Thanks in advance.

    Tony Salmelainen

Ok, here we go. Tony was pissed of about refs call, and was sent off. He threw trash can, and it hit HIFK busdriver to head, few stitches. And then there was apologies and everything. :P

Tony is REALLY fast, and can score, but I do not like him, 'cause I believe he is somekind of whiner. He left our national team TWICE 'cause coach E.Lehtonen didn't promise him sure place in team, you know. I believe when you are representing your country, you do it even if it means a pressbox place!!! But Janne Lahti, he can be an asset to Habs, just wait and you'll see.
