  1. The losers of this system will knock it to get their public off their back. "Don't blame us blame the NHL." If the winners of this system start complaining we have a problem.
  2. Maybe or he might he have earned his paycheck for tonight and settle down. No one has to bother with him either now. Honour has been preserved (lol). Not to say it won't happen anyway in which case were in trouble
  3. i don't want to dwell on it but man Komi's awesome! He neutralized Brashear which someone was going to have to do. Philly doesn't dress him to be a gentleman. Prior to this I was worrying about who would do it and if that player lost badly how much it would screw up our momentum. Komi is becoming Quintal maybe better [Edited on 2005/10/25 by Lister110]
  4. hahaha, I promise to keep the conspiracies out of this one. I'll save it for the X-files
  5. Komi didn't get tossed unless there were punches thrown we didn't see. It was a wrestling match and Komi got the take down.
  6. That's crap though Komisarek shouldn't be fighting that guy. We need Ivanans back and healthy
  7. Nice hit if it wasn't for the stick Bulis and Begin, all heart
  8. You're right Shortcat1, It solves nothing. Even if statistics could show some truth to it, all that would be accomplished is possibly a damaging blow to the game we love and it still wouldn't be provable. I'll refrain from anymore conspiracy theories, can't make any promises on criticizing officials though. Hope I didn't depress anyone with that bit. We've got a great team this year and we should all be happy with the overall improvement of the game. Go Habs!
  9. The hooking calls have been pretty good for the most part, I'll give them that. It is now on a par with highsticking to the face (which if you were watching the game you would have seen them miss on Souray when he ate a good piece of lumber). Now if the could reach the same effect on obstruction and holding of small players the Habs would be laughing. And of course calling penalties when they happen and not when the balancing act demands it.
  10. "No, I clearly stated that people should stop complaining about refereeing, whether they win or not. If Montreal loss, I could still careless about the officiating because it wasn't that bad, especially considering that the Referees still have to deal with new rules. " These guys don't need excuses for making bad calls against Montreal. They have done this since the beginning of the NHL. The new rules are going to be discovered to be nothing more than a way of increasing scoring to help market hockey to people that aren't interested in the southern states. They'll do the balancing act too because the games aren't as interesting if the outcome is a forgone conclusion (again marketing). There will always be exceptions (TO VS Atlanta). In the end look for the team that has the bigger market share to get the momentum swinging penalties. Remember the Calgary Tampa series? I said it then and I'll say it again Calgary was cheated. Look at the way the penalties were called, timing, players selected, consecutive order and you'll see the pattern. There was the disallowed goal in the sixth game that would have given the series to Calgary in Calgary. Some teams will defy the odds, afterall Calgary did to get there but in the end it wasn't enough. The balancing act should in theory still let the better team win so long as the penalties aren't manufactured in a way to swing the balance. And you'll never see an all Canadian final! The loss in TV contracts and advertizing in the States would put Bettman's panties in a twist. Haha, sorry can't help the complaining when I see bad calls or missed ones all night. These games get me pretty excited. Nothing's better than when we defy the odds for the win. Complaining doesn't change anything but it is nice to vent in a sympathetic community. We get enough bias from the anti-habs TSN. See all the Leafs complaining about the Philly game, Tuckers disallowed goal. Hahahahaha [Edited on 2005/10/23 by Lister110]
  11. Well its up for debate, I say the refs tonight were not constant in their calls. They might keep a balance between the teams but that isn't fair officiating if one team commits more infractions. To keep the balance you call light penalties on one team and ignore penalties on the other. The officiating wasn't as bad as some games. We can thank the strength of our team for not letting the refs spoil the game.
  12. "Why are people always so unsatisfied with referring (unless their team gets 20 powerplays)? The Officials are dealing with new rules and a new style of play. Let them figure it out and stop with the whining. " That's pretty easy to say after you win the game. The result doesn't change the officiating, it wasn't good. If we get more penalties because we deserve them fine, but these days the refs make calls that they don't follow up with after. Bad reffing is arbitrary and unpredictable which is how it was tonight. 13. Ottawa gets a break not like they need one. This was suppose to be one of their back to back games. I thought it would be their 1st loss. Florida has the nack to upset, especially if Ottawa was tired
  14. Now they're putting on more time. Why not just pretend they scored already and give them the goal
